Average manga. Could have been a lot better.
Revolves around Osamu Wakai's childhood and him growing up watching the original Gundam on TV, trying to acquire Gunpla and having Amuro Ray as his imaginary friend (which was the least interesting part). Who is Osamu Wakai? According to the manga, he is a Gundam stand-up comedian who dresses up as Amuro Ray...yeah, it's that niche lol
I'm not really that familiar with the original Gundam, even though I've watched half of the episodes in the past. I did find parts of the manga interesting though. Which parts? Mainly the last page, where Osamu Wakai was sharing bits of his childhood or giving more information about the setting and what has occured in the chapter through a little paragraph.
It's a very quick read, the art is so-so and very light on details. I just feel that given the synopsis it could have been tighter and more focused as a narrative. It sounded interesting but it didn't give that much info about the period or his life or his interests in Gundam. It was generally a bit ho-hum and all over the place.
