I personally didn't like Lena's choice, although it fit with her character.
All the men sent her way were great catches! I want all of them.
What type of reverse harem ending is it?
(general answer, no names)
She chooses one and sticks with him.
(with names)
She ends up with Nix, her guardian/teacher
Why do I hate her choice?
He has a bland personality and gives a lukewarm response to her years long unrequited love. He admits he is only now learning what romance and sex for fun is. Out of all the men, sex with him was the most boring. He hasn't completely let go of his regret over Lene Miller from hundreds of years ago.
Did Lena get oral from her cousin/uncle/relative, the prince?
I saw a lot of people confused about Lena's heritage. The prince who gave her oral is not her relative. She is not related to the royal family. The epilogue with Lene Miller and the prince (now current king) having a one night stand did not result in a child. Lene Miller is also not Lena's mother.
What's the connection between Lene Miller, Nix, and Lena (MC)? Minimized spoilers as much as possible
Nix was captured and brought to the palace. Lene Miller is a palace scholar and acts as a parental figure to Nix. Nix does something against her wishes and she chooses to leave the palace in anger. Nix never sees her again. Fast forward a few hundred years. Nix senses Lene Miller's mana signature in a pregnant lady. Lady dies and Nix adopts the baby. He names the baby Lena (MC). The matching mana and similar looks means it can be assumed Lene Miller and Lena are blood related somehow.
Egg???
yeah, weird. In the review, the author shows a rough drawing of Nix when he was master of the forest. It looked like a mix between Phoenix and peacock, so an egg makes some sense. Except he's male, so idk I want to forget that part
Grooming?
No!
Big spoiler explanation
Nix is a perfect platonic guardian who got stressed all the times Lena tried to sexually assault him that he erased his own memory. Then he leaves and tries to give her opportunity to choose good men. When she still chooses him, it doesn't seem like he reciprocates her level of feelings. He's more concerned about giving her opportunity to not be with him. To me, it's like he's using her to learn more about human behavior. He may be genuine in his feelings, but not in a totally human way. Let's not forget that he is not human and learns by observing and copying humans.
