This is normally one of the few genres I avoid like the plague but I not this time! The impersonation premise defies real word logic so the reader will either be on board or not fairly fast. The topic of the manga is real-world cross-dressing for a change and not the typical harem/ecchi mess. The art is very cute and stylish and all the characters are realistically proportioned on top. As if a woman drew them. Oh wait.. Most importantly the characters are top-notch. The usual traps like will they or won´t they and other sitcom stuff get addressed in a logical fashion and pretty fast btw and scenes where the characters go through real progression in their lives actually happen regularly. So leads don´t get interrupted in plot-progressing scenes and then forget all about it. The opposite of a Rumiko manga. I really liked the ending too. I could actually see the buildup happening because the author had a game plan. This along with La La La is her best and this mangaka is a modern-day Fuyumi Souryo so check her exemplary work out too.

There are quite a few obvious flaws - its repetitive, not focused on parenting, the main lead complains too much and the comedy is pretty much recycled. The manga has 10 volumes, I am currently on v.3 ch.29 and am finding it pretty cumbersome to sit through. I am keeping it on hold for now. Will pick it up later..probaably.

So this manga started out really interesting and my initial score was 9/10 for it. But now with the latest scanlated chapter it is painful to watch how much of a bumbling fool Suda is despite the numerous chances he had to come clean to his love interest. Yes I know it's played for drama and comedy, but if it's gonna be this way for most of ten volumes I dunno if I can endure it. Maybe if they eventually get together by volume 6 or 7 and the rest of the series focuses more on Suda coming out to his stepson then I may like it more. But for now I feel a long slog through recycled situations between Suda and his pseudo-girlfriend a long while to come.

Really entertaining, well written, great plot and wonderful art. It dragged on a bit towards the later chapters but quickly picked itself back up and returned to a decent pace.

I would highly recommend this series!

The story is centered around main character, Makoto, trying to balance his life while cross dressing and raising a child that's not blood related. It's not strictly about parenting.

Couldn't wait so I read the Chinese version. Finished and enjoyed it. I also hope this won't get abandoned. It's worth reading. Would read it again if this gets fully scanlated since I understand English more than Chinese.

This series is hilarious!!! The misunderstanding, the relationship, his crossdressing, are so funny!!! The art is amazing, and the situation is well written in my opinion. If you are looking for a moving and serious romance, please do not read this, or if you are looking for a manga focused on mother-son relationship,also please do not read this as this manga is about the protagonist and his life and his realtionships with other people, not just his son.
So please someone pick this up as I am tired of reading chinese raws!!
edit: I finally finished reading this and I have to say, it's really amazing! All the issues had been wrapped up

After reading what there is of Liar x Liar so far, I went looking for other romance manga of this author, and discovered this one that's already completed. It would be awesome if someone would pick it back up. Liar x Liar would be awesome too, but it's still ongoing, while this one only needs raws, which are already available on the net (sadly, this one only has furigana for names, as opposed to Liar x Liar, which makes it considerably harder to read))

I wish it would progress faster into him telling everyone that he is actually a man. This is far too slow.

I've been following this series for a while now, and I have to say it is one of my favorites for sure.... I can't help but to anticipate the next chapter far too much.... Not a situation that I've seen in other manga before....

There are like one or two mangas I'm reading where a guy is learning to be a father(3 but two are good). Its a nice topic, especially since I'm concern about fathers myself.

But that aspect of this manga isn't all that interesting, The guy already has already learned to be a mother(in his case). So he's a pretty good parent already.

This manga is more about him dating while already having a son. Plus having crossed dressed to be a mother to his son. He meets a girl he likes, but she doesn't know him out side of his woman persona.

[altering my last paragraph] The more obvious problems with this manga aside from the dumb premise, and the fact that the guy is a weak parent by not revealing to the child or making him deal, is that it is done by a yuri manga-ka.

She turned her female friendship thing into a yuri love story really abruptly. In the supposedly not androphobe girl is cold towards males. This sucks because the manga-ka decided to drop her pet hobby into a story that didn't need but did it too soon simply because she couldn't control herself. The guy being stupid at planning and controlling a relationship he doesn't want to happend is also a problem. It just adds to his weak character, and it's rather dumb on his part.
