Description

Pretty good, rushed ending

Art is very good to great. The focus is the familial relationship between a mother and her sons, very wholesome, and political machinations. Romance is basically non existent, it is only hinted at.

All these things are done very well, until about the last third, where either they ran out of money or for whatever other reason, the series hits on the pedals and rushes to the end. Almost all the important things are resolved, so it isn't a bad ending, but it also feels like a lot of budding plot lines were just abandoned and some of the resolution is not quite there. There are zero epilogue chapters, which could help with this.

Overall, recommended, but prepare yourself for a too abrupt end.

With regards to translation, even the official one is a bit lacking, but not bad. The politics in this are well thought out, and it seems too complicated for the translators who sometimes zonked out and got names and pronouns wrong.

Ending rant :

You finish the story learning the FMC is completely romantically clueless, which is cheap, because she it too intelligent for this nonsense.

Also, for some reason the story ends with a tearful goodbye to everyone as she goes on what seems like a long trip to find herself, which is even dumber. First of all, her child which she loves dearly is only 6 year old, leaving him for months or years is wrong. If she doesn't leave for long, the tearful goodbyes are just misleading. She left for weeks at a time constantly without any of this. Second, she is an adult who went through an extremely varied life, she doesn't need to go on a long trip to experiencing something new or find herself. She organized a rebellion, participated in a war as a soldier and a general, started and led a knight order, was kidnapped by desert people for months and worshipped as a goddess, had a whole stint as an arch-mage, only to lose her powers, become a mother and be abandoned by the father, regain power in a different way, so on. Like, come on. If she hasn't experienced enough of life to know herself, no one ever will.

Decent, but really bad unofficial translation.

Reviewed at chapter 50/104.

The series imo is neither good nor bad so far.

The negative thing about it, is that the fmc is pretty monotone, but the power she has is pretty interesting and so is how that aspect is going to get developed. Another thing that is good about it is the problem solving ability of the fmc.

But the BIG problem that I have with this series is that the (unofficial) translation is really bad. You can make sense of what is being said most of the time, but that means that sometimes you can't make sense of what is being said, which is really really bad and I feel like the bad translation alone brings the whole experience down significantly.

I feel like the series is a 6.5/10 (a decent read but nothing exceptional), but the translations brings it down to a 4.5/10 (not really worth reading).

But there is a solution, you can read the official translation, but that would cost you around 30 bucks as of now (there are 104 chapters out rn).

It's been a while but from what I remember, this series stars off well and interesting. She's determined to be a good mother to her children and navigate the palace politics accordingly. This part is really pretty good
Then there's an arc that takes place that concerns a foreign nation. And it starts to feel soooo generic and average. This arc takes up most of the second season and made me want to drop it quite a few times.
Season 3 returns to palace politics and might be a return to form, too early to tell, but I'm getting the impression it's somewhere in between.

I usually leave more detail but it's been months and my memory is bad lately.
If I rated the first part I'd give probably around 7.5. Second part a 5 (average). Overall I guess 6.5, but that's as an average rather than indicative of what quality to expect at any given part.

large parts of the manhwa are skippable

dropped at ch 95, the MC's personality never changes and everytime she gets in trouble, she has a new power or a new strong man to help save her. i would not hestitate to say she is a Mary Sue. the story goes from a dispute on royal succession to an adventure type when the MC is politically exiled, but this has no effect on the original plot and just gives her another man and makes her a little more powerful. do not reccomend.

None of the characters were born with a personality, the plot is held together with glue and popsicles, and the children act like moeblobs rather than actual children.

It has a lot of potential the only problem is the translation is bad. It focuses more on caring for her child and her step son instead of romance. FL is smart and can even use sword if needed. I hope it will get better translations

Ugh why there is no review?? Ok I'll explain, This manhwa is very fun, good and entertains my lonely souls haha, the behavior of the child is very funny.
So I regret having read it until the end of the episode because I'm excited for the next episode, it's very exciting.
