Description

Intensely good

I have to say that I really appreciate Matsumoto Miecohouse's talent at making intense stories about one's insecurities and how it interferes with their ability to love honestly. The story reminds me of the intensity of her other BL works (Utsukushii Yasai and Boys Love!) that also touches on heavy topics like past trauma.

Every time Masami confronts Shiro, I can't help but get nervous and excited in anticipation of Shiro's reactions. Like, will he finally be brave enough to stop being in denial and take the risk of things ending or will he continue playing it safe and prolong everyone's suffering.

Even the little physical touches between them are nerve wrecking to read because you can see how hard they are both trying from crossing the very fragile line holding them together.

This might be my sadistic side speaking but their pained expressions were also so good, it got me thanking Matsumoto-sensei a lot for them.

Anyway, people might not like Shiro for how indecisive he is but I can understand why. Of course he'll be confused when he sees something so shocking that it forces him to reconsider his relationship with his best friend. He doesn't want to risk losing his best friend for good even it means ignoring his friend's feelings to keep him around.

Of course, Shiro is a jerk for wasting 5 years of Mako's life but well I'm glad that Mako became the bigger person and wasn't too bitter about how their relationship ended

Big props to Masami tho for being so patient. Thankfully, he never forced himself on Shiro and was wise enough not to fall into temptation. Get you a man who loves you and dares to deal with the hard stuff that people are normally afraid of confronting.

The story is a okay well, could hv been better and surely it's shocking to witness your brother or other siblings having sex. But having a mc wishy-washy attitude caused a rift his relationship with ppl around him (it does gets on my nerves most of the times). All in all it's really lucky to have someone who's patient, being considerate and can endure (the pain ) instead of forcing his way towards a person he loves like the ml does to the mc. Well, can't blame all to the mc since since he's insecure, has pride and doubt to admit his feeling.
The drawing style is not really my liking but it's still fine and just give this manga a try.

Edit: Thanks to the translators who picks this again and complete it.

This manga really is good.

Of course you'll be shocked after witnessing your brother having sex. Shirou's reaction was totally legit. He felt like something was wrong and he was scared. Running away from Masami because he couldn't confront his own feelings either. Too embarrassed because he felt too shameful.
When he told Masami it was gross, he was actually talking to himself.

Some think there's too much crying, well I disagree.
You cry when you're unable to express what you're feeling (be it because you're too happy, sad, or angry) and there's so much angst here it's totally understandable. On the contrary I liked the fact that they cried because the characters felt more real that way.

All in all I really love this story. The characters' reactions are really realistic and the main couple is really endearing (I didn't really care about the brothers tbh). Plus I personally really like the art as the characters showed a lot of different expressions. The emotions really got through me.

I don't want to contradict everything that the person below wrote but it sure isn't an ok read. Give it a chance I think you'll be surprised.

I'll definitely remember this one and read it again !!
I hope someone will pick it up soon so I can know the end... 🙁

3 years after having started this, my review barely changed, even through completion. I guess you could read this to pass the time? It's not bad, but not remarkable either.
The artwork is definitely not my favorite. The characters look too young in the beginning, then there's a sudden time jump which doesn't seem to affect anything at all in their lives, and then they are finally at an ok age, but it still looks flaky and wobbly, albeit it a bit better.
The plot is cute but some parts are a bit of a cliche, like Maki's pregnancy. On the other hand, I enjoy when there's miscommunication that leads to angst, and that had plenty of it. But somehow, I felt quite disconnected from their love, like it wasn't believable, or didn't pass the feeling onto me. Normally, it'd be the kind of thing I suck up.
I feel like neither Masami nor Shirou are deep characters and every single character cries too much. Girly ukes are not my type at all, but girly semes are even worse. Actually, I think the brothers' story looks much more interesting, but we never got to hear it (I also found it hard to tell them apart in the beginning, as they look similar).
The pace is not satisfying either, with things happening way too suddenly and too fast, even with so much time passing. Once characters kiss willingly, there is no going back. Even if one of them won't accept their feelings, they pretty much are in love as well, so from that point it drags on. A better solution would be to make one character kiss the other, who would fights back, even though he liked it. So since Masami confesses to Shirou too early - yes, it was after some years, but just out of the blue - half of it was solved. And the same happens with Shirou - as soon as he settles it with Mako, he runs to Masami.
With all of that being said, I did finish it and it did keep my attention, so counting all the BL I've read, it's definitely not one of the worst.
