Cute! A bit tropey, but still a fun read and I liked the art. Pacing was a bit fast, but still easy enough to follow, and the plot was easy enough to understand while still being interesting. Though it felt a bit more light-hearted for some of the heavier topics that came up war, revolution, assassination, coups, trauma from being stabbed to death, etc... Honestly felt like it was an intro to political intrigue stories, brushing the surface of the topics that come up in them.

So the previous comment seems to have more baggage with the isekai villainess subgenre than with this manga in particular, since nothing they wrote have any relationship whatsoever with anything that actually happens in this series. (UPDATE: Previous comment has been deleted for being an obvious troll, in case you're wondering what I'm referring to. Good riddance.)

Namely, the biggest oversight with that review is that Clovis, the one who killed her in her past life, is the love interest, not the MC's (ex?)husband. So if you're worried about the usual "villainess goes back in the past and reforms herself so her ex falls in love with her and they get back together" cliche, then you can put your worries to rest. That doesn't happen here. And Clovis is overall a decent guy (he had good reasons for trying to kill MC in the past, which MC herself acknowledges), so the romance isn't completely awful.

In general, though, this manga is painfully mediocre. (In fact, I probably wouldn't even be reviewing this series if not for that completely off-the-cuff comment that's not just unhelpful but actively harmful to actually getting what this story is about.) Because while it is slightly more ambitious than most and actually attempts to form some kind of political framework/hook, it's just... not very good at it. The politics are surface-level and middling, hinting at perhaps some deeper machinations but delivering those in such half-hearted, quick asides. There's no spark of brilliance here; it just feels like the story is going through the motions.

Honestly, I'm kind of impressed that the previous commenter could muster such hate for this story, because all I feel is a sort of weary, "Hm," about it. It's decent to while away the time if you're into this genre and want something to fill your time in between better stories, but that's all it really is -- a time waster.
