As somebody who grew up with superhero cartoons (Batman, Spiderman, X-Man, Fantastic Four) and Power Rangers i had a blast reading this manga.
It has its flaws (character design of female characters, some plot holes) but it has cool action scenes and lovable characters (Hornetman quickly became my favorite)

The Long Road to Victory, With a Side of Fanservice

This manga, like many manga and comics and shows before it, begins in a monster of the week fashion and then brings the overarching plot into focus in the latter half. Looking through the author's own commentary at the end of each volume, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all planned well in advance. The effort and love that the creator put into the manga shows with its explosive ending tying up everything with both great triumph and great loss.
A major aspect of this series that is rather different from its compatriots is its constant yuri fanservice. It is played up in the beginning, toned down in the middle, and then returns with redoubled force for the final volume. Fanservice fills every space it can in the last part in between the physical and emotional struggles coming to fruition after a hard journey from the beginning to the costly end. Even if you do not have an extreme aversion to fanservice, the last portion contains far more of it than the preceding parts and could easily turn people off even though it is quite a good ending in my opinion.

Interesting set up, believable problem (and conclusion), impeccable pacing, and well tied ending. This is a manga well done. A bit of tension here and there, but never get too serious. A train of superheroes homages that will make you chuckle. Neat artistry except female characters designs, which will make you wonder if the artist has a background in drawing hentai. Not a bad point at all. It just made you asking question, did the mangaka still need a fan service when the story is already strong and amusing?

I was so glad I experimented with this series. Super Sentai references, Pretty Cure and Magical girl references, and so many awesome heroes. The ecchi kind of ruins it for me a bit, but it definitely doesn't take away from some of these awesome bits.
But as of Volume 5, they...really aren't holding back with the ecchiness anymore...
