Masumi was really a good guy . He was being so good to that girl even though the girl wants him to suffer. it's not his fault why terada (the girl boyfriend) keeps harassing him.

And the ending was not really good . But the plot of the story was amazing. I want it more

This manga had so many tags of things I like to read, but something about it made it so BORING.
I kept thinking 'my god when is this going to end'.
It just makes me think of those shows were they had all the right ingredients yet still managed to put out garbage.
I wouldn't recommend anyone read this, unless .... wait I wouldn't recommend this period.

So I do have a rough idea here of what the mangaka was trying to convey through the story, and as far as the plot goes it's actually not too bad. Not the most outstanding one ever but at least I could learn to appreciate the potential angst and whatnot. The execution is, sadly, lacking in a lot of things to fulfil that initial idea that the mangaka had. The way she introduced the characters and the flashbacks is very incoherent, when they all just kinda jumbled together, and ultimately it created this sort of frustration for the readers, at least I for one. I know, I know that the author intended to reveal things one by one like that - I have no objection whatsoever mind you - as long as I could get into the flow of the narration without getting a brain melt. This.. was not such an experience.

I hate everyone except the Masumi. Everyone treats him like sh*t even though he did NOTHING wrong and he is victim on top of that. The end was anticlimax, still out of job, pictures of childhood abuse still spread around. The only good thing is he got out of that b*tch's hand, and at least the seme knows the truth.

For the readers who dislike even just a tiny bit of angst, I advice that you pass this manga. However, for those who feel up to it, enjoy the craftiness of the story. The plot per se is not dripping with melancholy, but at some parts, it can be a real tear-jerker- although not enough to give you puffy eyes afterwards. ;P

I've always wondered how 'falling for the enemy' would end like, especially an 'enemy' motivated by revenge. This story gives one of the best endings for revenge-themes(excluding fluff and PWP types)- not ending in a tragedy, but still retains a touch of reality, without the avenger giving up his vendetta halfway though the story.

I especially love how Ryouke's true feelings towards Aikawa were obscured until a few pages after the final climax of the story(revealing of the photos). Even then, you would have to keep on guessing whether he has actually fallen for the hero, or was still just carrying out his revenge. Thankfully enough, he clearly states how he feels about Aikawa- and thus removing any speculation on his real motives.

As for Aikawa, it really is sad how he ended up in such a miserable state of 'kindness'. His reaction was most reasonable though, for someone who experienced abuse and was not able to go through psychological therapy, as such, he lived most of his life under the feeling of torment for his supposed 'faults'. The agony of self-accusation caused by his experience of abuse, thus made him feel compelled to keep on searching for forgiveness- his only means of salvation from the guilt eating at him.
Being the recipient of hatred and abuse from everyone around him, and him just allowing them free-reign to ruin his life, might make him appear weak-willed, but that is not it. It is his way of obtaining atonement for his sins- for his grave sin, the one which ultimately triggered his downward spiral. Nevermind whether he really was at fault or not, he would seemingly 'gladly' receive the blame for almost everything and do his best to atone for it, even at his own expense- a result of his trauma. Through these things, he is able to keep his sanity and maintain the will to live.

Understanding, forgiveness, and love play a great part in the conclusion of the story. How it was interwoven so that its(Aikawa's atonement) development would be subtle, yet have an undisputed conclusion made it a truly great read.

Utterly melodramatic, depressing and confusing! I'm a fan of some of the mangaka's other work so this came as a complete shock and disappointment.

Characters- so similar that you can't tell them apart.

Plot- Confusing and over dramatic. I HATE when authors use child-abuse as a method to bulk out the story. Its a serious subject and needs to be treated as such, not just a was to give instant 'tragic-past' points.

Ahhh...just the way I like it! Angsty, beautiful as to make our heart full of pain, only to make us happy with that sweet ending <3

Emotional (and physical) abuse, dominant relationship, hatred, sadness...all melting in a surpressed and long forgotten love.

Masumi actually pisses me off a little because he is too submissive and altruistic, but I guess it does make total sense, since he blamed himself for Takasiha's father's death and even accepted his parent's own.

Takahisa, on the other hand, has the furious depth I adore. He's fierce and overwhelmed with the desire to get his revenge - only because he didn't realize his obsession with Masumi wasn't because he hated him, but because he had always loved him.

The art was good as well, and sex was hot.

Drama, drama, drama...perfect!

I really became amazed at the depth and thought behind the psyche of the main characters and the excellent choice of select scene delivery. Each frame held powerful punch. It is a dark and adult story that does have a lot of non-con and dub-con based on two disturbed psyches. But the explanation of their psyches is excellent!

After I discovered Masumi's past, I reread the entire tankobon; so many of the briefly flashed scenes that made no sense, or had previously unseen multiple meanings became apparent. His behaviour went beyond intriguing into insightful and heart-wrenching. The desire to re-enact childhood trauma in some fashion (i.e. seeking to punish oneself) and the 'blaming self' child mentality is present in the adult psyche of Masumi. When I reread it a second time, knowing Ryouke's reason for his hatred of Masumi, and his psyche development of reinventing, fixation, denial and the ability to truly change one's memories, it became even more tearful. I loved it.

And those scenes that were so sparsely explained! The flash of one simple memory panel was so important, and implied the enormous, but I didn't get it until I reread the whole work.

Ebihara-sensei did a 'writerly' work here, making the reader take jumps in the narrative's chronology and giving puzzles pieces that seemed impossibly vague. Although, she does explain it all in the last chapter, I really enjoyed it immensely upon rereading it.

Sadly, there were disappoints to this fascinating narrative and art: both characters weren't quite developed far enough. The ending between the two was good for yaoi fantasy, but somewhat disappointing: it was too fast with oversimplified emotions compared to the complexity of what came before. The ease of resolution, redemption, self-healing and ability to love another was questionable.

It's a little far-fetched and over dramatic (and not in a good way).
One of the two main characters is overly brutal and the other is overly spineless. Cliche, anyone?

This is a bitter story filled with lots of angst. There's nothing spectacular or unique about the plot, but it still cringes my heart reading this, though that's because I love reading manga filled with angst. <3
