After reading the review I decided to give this on a go and see for myself what this series is like. And sure enough. I loved it. Maybe the description doesn?t really make the story interesting but give it a go and see for yourself.
The plot. Simple, yet different between a boss and his work relationship which isn?t going as great, mikado a nice and lovable character who is also a fan boy but gets push and knocked around by his boss that he had enough. Sure enough he finds a weakness and use it to where I cheer for him. The author does a great job with him as his not an total otaku like many other characters I?ve read. As for the boss, Masaki who is consider a douche bag to mikado I couldn?t help but hate at the beginning.
Later though things take a turn and the two start to open up to each other which I found interesting. The author doesn?t shove the rush ness of these character even within one volume. They don?t continue to use their secret or weakness to each other throats. They hang out and learn more about each other.
Now another character who makes appearance. Who is the boss ex lover, starts to cause some annoyance between the two as mikado starts to wonder about misaki relationship with him, while misaki still carry the old scars of being a lot and wants nothing to do with it. Simple. Been done before. But excuted whether well.
Now near the the climax people seem to have an issue with an alley scene. I for one saw this was coming and mikado when foreshadow it to misaki about it, but misaki dealing with his own problems let?s it get to him and get attacked, I knew it coming. I?m not disgusted as many are. Could the author simply not show it. Yes. But It?s there for a purpose and I accept it. Then we have the ex just making things worse, as he tries to get back with him. I for one don?t mind him but he made a mistake and doesn?t even apologize to it. He just thinks it?s okay to what happen to him and Masaki which things were ok because he was guy and I disagree with maisaki fully. The author clearly shows that Masaki isn?t interested and what they did was in the past and the ex needs to accept it. Seriously. For what happens between them many people have spoiled and seem to hate this scene but I see it as proving a point about Masaki as a character and his relationship with a certain someone and I give the author a clap for that.
The last chapter makes you forget about the rest of story as for me I will always love how the confession is and how the author excutes it. And by jolly she does a fabulous job about it. It leaves most of the funny comedy moments that you see within the series out and starts to really shine as emotional and endearing to not only Masaki emotions and his vulnerability to his jerk behavior in chapter one but also how much I love mikado as a great man and charming character overall. It gets me start crying and I can see how pure and troubling through the eyes of a gay and straight man and it may be hard to achieve happiness to someone. Their confession was great and emotional that I could help but read it again.
Now we got more after math as we see misaki and his ex resolve which he seems to come to a conclusion. Many people seem to be upset that it wasn?t a better resolve but they already had it a long time ago, the author clearly states it through misaki heart and thought along with tell his ex that his not interested many times. Could have it been more proper and understanding? Yes. But the ex even seems to see it through his own eyes as he even asks his old lover about his relationship with someone. In fact he even gets his own anger out but releasing something to everyone that was more then enough as he even states hit himself about it. Could that character gotten mad and punch him? Yes. At work? No. Is their a point? Not really? He already did the deed. He doesn?t hate the character, but the ex missed his chance and needs to get over it, but gives a final say to Masaki as a farewell. Enough said and done.
The author also included a little prequel to mikado. Is it needed? Not really but gives a more insight to a little reveal in the bonus chapter and how he got a job which was fun and funny.
After reading the story, I finally got interested in these two that I want more, which is the downside of reading one shots. They are just two especially if you really love the story. Same thing goes with the author other work Hana and usagi which was a adorable but with only 3 chapters I couldn?t get into it as it was just too short and I want more. However if I were to say I want a sequel it would be this story.
Now for someone that imported the sequel that just came out. I gotta say this definitely drove it home for me. Thank you author for making another chapter as it involves only mikado and Masaki as they only been dating for a month after the series ended. Seems to be going ok however mikado seems to be upset about some. Apparently all they been doing is making love and he wants to something different. He wants to go on a date for Golden week. Masaki is confused and wondering why they should when they could just stay home and make love all day. However he gives in and we see these characters interact outside and it?s cute. But still problems are occurring. Mikado wants to hold hands and be together while misaki is trouble about the future and is worried that this happiness will end one day. It serves a purpose to ending the series right but it only makes me want more. It makes me see want to see them do more embarrassing stuff and near the end it makes me cry at the end.
I only hope well will officially get a second volume with more funny and emotional stuff between these loveable characters but even if we don?t. The author made a great story.its got it problems but nothing is prefect. But I love it all the same.
