I knew I shouldn't have tried reading another manga related manga... -.-
Ignore this part, this is biased and personal. Honestly, it's an insult. Same as all those that I've tried reading after Bakuman. Yea whatever, I'm a fan of that one >.>. Not every mangaka is incapable, emotional, irresponsible, and female damn it! And yet that's how they are always portrayed...
Other than that, it's another stupid shoujo. I don't mean this as in I hate shoujos, I mean shoujos has alot of stupid mangas the same way shounen has. You have a dumb heroine, you have a hot guy. The heroine will unexceptionally gradually fall in love with the male lead despite hating him at first. The male lead will always always and ALWAYS tease the female and sometimes show unexpected kindness, but eventually realize their crush on the female -.-. See? Exact pattern. I didn't need to finish chapter one or even half of it to see that it applies here too.
The art? *shrug* It's shoujo. There's two things that is a must: 1: Hot guys; 2: Innocent large eyes. And the most often, I see the style going after sparkly large eyes + dot for nose + lots of blushing; or, the one you see in both shoujo and shounen: average, clean, pretty, and very common in mangas these days. Do I need to say more?
The story plus the art = duplication of shoujo characters with swapped out names. In other words, I have nothing good to say about characters too. They're the same for all I care. Weak.
I may be a bit too critical sounding >< mostly cause... well... like I said I'm a huge fan of Bakuman or more specifically saying Ashirogi Muto, so yes, I kinda got offended a lil even though there's absolutely no reason to take it so seriously. But that aside, it's nothing but a run-of-the-mill below average shoujo manga, if that doesn't explain enough. Don't get me wrong, mangas that follow the very basic and typical route of its genre aren't always bad. Some turn out to be the best of best, others plain suck. You simply have too many of the same manga with different names.
However, I'll have to say this is one of those failures. The plot's too simple. You have a girl and guy falling in love for no reason. That's about it. I'll say whatever her mangaka career turns out to be, it's destined to remain as a subplot, which, is a fail. BUT! If you just wanna read some random romance/smut shoujo, don't let me stop you. There's always times when you're just in the mood for one of them.

Hahaha. This manga is ridiculous, though I think that's what it is going for (with names like Otome and Ouji and Yumenomori/Forest-of-Dreams, I would hope it isn't taking itself seriously). The art's a little odd, and not really my preferred style, but it's not terrible. The writing is hilarious—Ouji's lines in particular made me giggle and laugh. Worth reading for the fun it pokes at shoujo-manga (I love the genre, but I'm very aware of its many flaws and silliness).
