This manga is an interesting, engaging sci-fi mystery, right up to the point you realize, "Oh, the author's just seen
JJ Abram's Fringe."
After it solves its central mystery by lifting plot points wholesale from a popular American TV show, it comes to a rushed, hasty conclusion. Like the author got embarrassed once the big secret is out in the open. A minor character turns into a bad guy because the plot needs a climax, the main character resolves her arc completely off-screen, and then it's over.
If you don't mind a lengthy build-up just to arrive at the revelation it's a yuri twist on somebody else's story, by all means give it a shot. But if you value an original and satisfying conclusion, best look elsewhere.
So if you're like me,vthe "oh this isn't normal or heteronormative" talk in Chapter One might have gotten you saying "... I don't think I'm going to like this".
But I was very pleasantly surprised to find this expectation (and my sense of lingering disappointment) subverted! If you were turned off by the first chapter like I almost was, keep reading I beg you- it isn't a case of the classic "oh no this character isn't normal and feels bad about it" trope.
And I don't know yet, but I hope the ending does the journey justice.
This manga is self-aware of its ridiculousness. The only "what if... heterophobia was real?!" that I'll ever read. It's like a fever dream, a random 2000 OVA. I reccommend to GL readers as a breath of fresh air lmao
Pacing is weird, story is weird, everything was weird but somehow it works !
