The Randonay family has produced saints for generations, but unlike the previous saints, Lilouch has jet-black hair and golden eyes and is the first male saint in his nation's history. He spends his days being hated by people for his appearance and gender, but still he carries out his work with dedication, keeping in mind his late mother's words, "Do what is good for everyone." In spite of this, he is eventually betrayed and exiled from the country and soon encounters a beautiful young man injured on the side of the road. It turns out the person he heals happens to be His Highness Wogin, the prince of a neighboring country!
