a kind of chill vibe

Might be largely due to the characters' expressions (which are not very expressive, for better or for worse), but this manga seemed much more chill than its plot really is. The relationship between the two characters and the conflicts of the story were all dealt with in a somewhat subtle manner that didn't evoke much emotion. This was also likely courtesy of the easygoing main character + the cool love interest. It was actually pretty enjoyable to read, but like most of the comments mention, the ending was disappointingly abrupt. Even if you were to compare it to the rest of the story it was anticlimactic at best. While I personally would still recommend it, don't expect anything once you reach the final chapter.

I enjoyed this manga. The female lead is charismatic and quirky and the characters are well done. The ending... I don't really get why it happens in a sudden way but at last it's pretty clear what happened.

Like others have said, this is very good until the incredibly abrupt ending. The characters are all fairly unique and interesting, and the lightness of the story is refreshing. It really feels like it is going to be something great...until it's suddenly done. It makes me wonder if the manga got canceled or something, honestly; it feels like there's this slowly paced buildup that leads to, well, nothing.
That said, I have re-read this a couple of times, because it's pretty short and easy and, as I said, really good until basically the last chapter. I just wish it didn't leave me feeling incomplete every time I finish it :/

LOVE IT

Love love love the protagonist. She is very endearing and also quite original. I mean it! There's a broad spectrum of shoujo lead types yet she is such a lovely outlier from the rest.

I love that there isn't too much inner monologue as well. You actually have to depend on character interaction and the drawings to understand the behaviour of the characters.

Eimi has got to be one of my favorite manga characters of all time. She's just ridiculous and adorable.

That said, I can't give this manga 10/10 because of the out-of-nowhere, abrupt ending.

if the mangaka wants to, she can probably stretch this out forever, but she decides to just cut to the chace. in a way, i like it like this because i really can't imagine how eimi would look if she's in love...when she's already swooning in the first chapter.

kinda original in the way this is spinned. the characters often have this blank face,( i dont think she knows how to draw emotions well), or its just without emotions can this manga feels as breezy as it is.

This was so different from anything I'm use to reading. Most of the manga was so laid back, but funny. No over the top shenanigans, no drama, not whining, no crying, no fighting. How does this have a shoujo tag!? It was such a breath of fresh air!

Sure Eimi was a bit of an airhead, but not an annoying airhead. She's so beautiful and puts a smile on peoples faces and makes someone want to take care of her. She doesn't whine, she doesn't argue, she doesn't pry into people's business. She's just a normal girl.

As for the romance I quite enjoyed it, but I seriously want to cry when I realized the ending was axed. I mean, it wasn't terrible, but as the ending neared you just get a huge smile on your face and realize what's going to happen next when...BAM! There's the ending, with just a hint at what the outcome was.

Not ideal, but the manga was so enjoyable it wasn't that big of a deal.

For the longest I really wondered if Eimi and Wanibuchi would end up together. I really thought Eimi was in love but she just has a strange, obsessive friendship with Wanibuchi. The ending is the only "hint" that they got together. It was a nice hint, but it was so obvious the ending got axed.
Like, seriously axed. So axed that they could have had another two or three more chapters after!
The ending had so much potential!

Anywho, it's still a brilliant read. The art isn't bad! Eimi is really cute and Wanibuchi is hot! The story is very laid-back and truly a slice of dormitory life. I really enjoyed it.

An endearing slice of life

Unique, quirky, and endearing. The author takes a typical shoujo plot line (high school romance between a strong, cool guy and a nice but dense girl) and brings it to a completely different level. The flow feels genuine and very natural, the romance is both ripe and innocent, and fully adequate for me. The characters are very well portrayed; each has nearly one chapter of spotlight time and makes frequent appearances, brushes, and touches all over the series. I fell in love with each and everyone of them, and enjoy getting to know them rather than focusing on the romance. Thus, I feel that the ending is rather good. All characters stay consistent throughout the series, and there's just no reason to think that they will experience any dramatic change in the near future; in other words, we pretty much know where things will head off to from now on. Life goes on, slowly and sweetly as it always has, some of them get together for a long time and some will part, for that's how high school romances are. I actually love the way the author ends the series, not with a definite "and they all live happily ever after, with children and such", but leaves things all hanging in mid air, no graduation, no college exams, no break up, no get together, no closure whatsoever... Because that's just how being young is. Just an open hallway. At least that's how I feel.
On a side note, her accompanying music is awesome, as always. Do try to stop time after time to check out the tunes for each character, you'll sure have a much better understanding and grow a lot closer to them.

Story and Art OK
by Roaku

Up until volume 5 I thought the story was fantastic, very original, beautifully depicted characters and a plot that veared from the typical.

From then on, it became as everything shojou manga has.
For once I was fooled into believing that the second guy would win. But no. It was all about the bad-asses... sigh. It became such a huge let down, hence the low rating.

Not because my favourite pair or something didn't join. Its because it got unrealistic, unfeeling and rather out of place, the whole last volume felt as if it took a turn that it wouldn't have originally gone. As if the author suddenly decided, "Oh, readers would like it if the main girl doesn't end up with the main guy" and quickly jotted down a plot that would twist that foundation.

Overall, it was a good read, I enjoyed it. I'd even recommend it, but tell people to stop at volume 5. Just leave it as a cliffhanger~

Enjoyable

I really liked the main character... Sorta reminded me of the girl from 'The Wallflower' in terms of quirkyness. If you're willing to read about a girl who loves food, is completely oblivious to everything, forthright and speaks her mind without fail, then it will be an enjoyable manga.
On the other hand, if you find the main character annoying, you probably won't like the manga very much... Since the entire story revolves around different episodes surrounding her.

Like most people here, I did a double-take at the ending. But for me, I didn't have a vested interest in the 'ending', it was more the stories and episodes of the main character that I enjoyed.

This is not a literary masterpiece, The story is scattered at times. Most of the male characters look the same to me, so I would get confused as to who was speaking. But, it was a very enjoyable manga. I simply loved the main character.
