I don't like this at all and I tried to put my finger on it to write a review saying more than just "guess I'm not in the mood for porn". Where do I even start?
First of all, the female lead gives pick me vibes. First chapter she comes out of the gate asking the male lead if she has a sexy face. She's basically a male fantasy. Her only "flaw" is that she has a brother complex. Freud would say that's not a flaw but rather part of the fantasy. It's a classic manga quirk really.
Her only distinctive trait is her obsession with stationery, and even that is sooo flanderized. The author wrote her always only buying stationery and blabbing about it to sound knowledgeable, but there's basically no scenes of her using that stuff, the closest we get is her saying she needs a planner for her planners (dumb and unfunny) and writing a letter just to tell the male lead to take responsibility.
So in reality she has no personality and exists only for that romance. It's not that she only talks about her love life as much as she has no girl friends to talk about it to (which is another sign she's a pick me).
Not only that, the only people other than the male lead who she has somewhat solid interactions with are her brother (who also stands in for her lack of parents) and the classmate who also likes stationery. And the crazy thing is even those little interactions with other characters are just fodder.
With the way this relationship is presented, you would think the romance is exceptionally deep and developed... but it's really not.
This is not a oneshot, it's a manga with TWO whole volumes, so why the hell is it so plain?
