First things first I'm in love with Billy Balibally art style, and she was definitely able to display all her talent in Wolf Pack. It was truly a feast for the eyes : gorgeous female characters, handsome male characters and the most cutest wolf-babies !
I really liked her takes on the myth of Fenrir and how she created her own little story.
Her manga, especially the relationship between Hati and Gam, reminded me of Fangs, which she wrote the following year.
HOWEVER, and I'm really sad to say it because I love this author, the story was lacking.
All the elements were there to create the best story ever : the plot, the characters, the art ... everything ! Yet, one volume was not enough to cram everything in.
Right from the first chapter, I was under the impression I was reading a sequel / second volume instead of a one shot.
Hati and Gam already knew each other, were already in love, Skoll (Hati' sister) died the day before the story started, we started the story in the middle of their mariage ....
Like why so many important events happened before the story even started ?!
It seemed the mangaka simplified her story to fit everything in one volume but sadly the writing and overall the story suffered from this decision. Such a waste !
So now I'm glad for Fangs she was giving permission for multiple volumes.
