Commissioned as part of a 2014 government anti-drug program. Specifically, on synthetic marijuana.
Oneshot (Complete)

Completely different from Fukumoto's usual topics. There are no hard gangsters playing elaborate games of skill and chance here. His striking artstyle is employed to depict young Japanese having horrible freakouts after smoking gas station weed.
The conservative Japanese attitude towards drugs is that they're all identical to PCP and will instantly turn you into a violent addict. (Except alcohol, which is perfect and good.) When this fearmongering rhetoric is applied to marijuana it seems funny and out-of-touch. But this comic is about synthetic marijuana, which was apparently sold "legally" in Japan around the same time it got popular in the States. I did the stuff myself as a teenager and can confirm it's too easy to get hysterical and lose your judgment. This manga shows you several ways that could go down, with Fukumoto's patented panic attacks and grim violence.
You don't really need a review to tell you whether or not to read this. The only reason you're even here is probably that you're a Fukumoto fan intrigued by the title. I'm not sure why they chose him to do a drug PSA but the result is excellent. Since it will only take you a minute to read, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended. Be careful out there, kids!
