I will not give out too much information on the story itself because you guys need to see this out for yourself, so this is going to be a brief review.
Chronicling the days of WWII under the attacking Japanese, Souin Gyokusai seyo! lends insight as an escaped soldier retells the living conditions, motivations and thoughts of the army fighting hard for the Emperor's honor. It is a compelling recount delivering a message from the inevitably dead soldiers. Mostly an autobiography of Mizuki's experience after escaping certain death and becoming the last surviving member of his faction, Souin Gyokusai seyo! is a treasure to behold.
This manga makes me feel like I ought to appreciate life better.
