Rushed is all I can say about the ending for this. There was quite a bit left unresolved.
This is my first review of anything - because how personally riled up I got about it - so I'm sorry that I don't know how to add a spoiler tag just yet. This whole review is filled with spoilers though, and for anyone whose interested in reading this all they have to know is what I stated above. Also, whoever tagged this definitely had a different impression than me about this manhwa. I didn't see anything in it that could be considered "romance" (I've read all kinds of romance stories too), especially ALL of those romance-related tags...
SPOILERS
Such as why the heck Seung-Hyun was picking on Seung-Woon - are we supposed to assume something about Seung-Hyun and Hae-In's relationship? That's not the point of reading a manhwa then, right? Or any story. That's my opinion though - it'd be nice if they added an "unresolved" tag.
That leads into my point of what drew me into reading this manhwa (I had it saved for later in my endless list of shounen ai/yaoi to read). Firstly because I was looking for a "completed" work to read, but what kept me reading was the complexity and humanness of the characters. I could relate to both Seung-Woon and Hae-In (moreso Hae-In because of my own personal experiences in high school). The author took the time to establish the personalities of these characters before introducing any hints of romance either.
Which leads me to another disappointment I had with the story - there was barely any visible shounen-ai. Am I supposed to assume that when Seung-Woon began approaching Hae-In when Seung-Joon coaxed them into doing that romance was beginning to bloom between the two of them? Their first encounter can't be considered that (it's not a "love at first sight" story even if it gave me the slightest feeling of that by Seung-Woon's blushing face when he first saw Hae-In. Seung-Woon blushes quite frequently though, and it's often both because and as a result of him being timid. I can relate...).
The problem was that I got attached to the characters. I really wanted to see Seung-Woon and Hae-In properly resolve their feelings at least (the ending was not a bad way of resolving their relationship, but it's a half-attempted excuse in the case of resolving a story because it can show to the reader that only Seung-Woon has moved on and it doesn't matter how Hae-In feels about Seung-Woon letting their relationship go). Even if it was just through a text/phone conversation, that would give more resolvement.
Or just a side-story from Hae-In's perspective. Preferably, from in the future, but in the past would be acceptable. We have no idea what Hae-In could be thinking about anything in the story because his perspective was never shown.
fajslkdfjslkhnfs There's too much unresolved and ambiguous nonsense in my life - I don't want to have to feel this way from what I do in my free/leisure time.
Ah, I just noticed there's no romance tag.
Thank you sleep-deprived me - I'll be more careful next time in what I choose to read.
Shounen-"Ai" still has "love" in it though.
Sigh.
I mean, Seung-Woon even acknowledges in the end - and like I suspected - that he only wanted to have a life like Hae-In's. That Hae-In was "his doctrine." That's no romance. alsjdlfjsdlkfj
I'm glad others were able to enjoy this though (I was literally too emotionally rattled to cry or feel sad at the end even though I'm a crybaby), and at least now I know to be cautious if I see this author's name attached to any work. There's too many other stories I could be reading instead that I'd enjoy. ^^; All I hope is that this possibly helps out someone who wants to know if they should keep reading this once Seung-Joon is introduced.
Seung-Woon's personality and mentality is really interesting and refreshing to read about, after all. Along with what was shown about Hae-In.
