The relationship between the first couple developed a bit too fast for my taste. Like everything was going along smoothly and then it was like BAAAM THEY'RE IN LOVE AND FUCKING and to be honest, it was rather startling. It definitely felt like some relationship development was dropped in order to finish the story quicker. It would have been better if the story was longer than like 3 chapters.

That being said, I really liked how the mangaka handled rape (here at least, not sure how they handle it in general). The characters didn't romanticize it and they acknowledged that it's a fucking crime and a really fucking terrible thing to do to another human being. The character also called it for what it was, RAPE. Like I noticed how other stories tend to avoid calling sexual assault "rape" or "sexual assault". They're all like "forced sex" and that's fucking rape. You don't call drowning another form of swimming so why call rape another form of sex?

I like how the main couples are fucking healthy (or at least waaaaay healthier than some of the shit that you see in this genre). The only reason I'm gonna give this a 8 is because the main couples were healthy couples and how rape was handled and treated in the story. The storytelling wasn't the best, but I am just so pleased with those two "points" that I'm giving this an 8.

These are among the most 'standard' BL stories, which also means they're almost too mediocre for a 'veteran' like me to bear. The first story tried to fill angst in place but was very amateurishly done at that. When the option of depth isn't within capability, a story should just steer to being more light-hearted and not so serious rather than stubbornly sticking to staying depressing, because in the end it will just come across as shallow and flat, in other words a fail. However, it's sad to say that it was even better than the other two stories. They're just.. not within my range of even the least acceptable type of cliche. This is not too good of a manga, I'm afraid.

1st: typical sad past & reunion.
2nd: hate the reporter. the uke is so stupid. He fed u a few gentle words and in love with him.
3rd: hate everyone in the story.
The uke is so indecisive. That thid rd party guy is no highups and no blackmail going yet he never resists and even has sex with him after breaking up. After hearing his crush is getting married, he suddenly declare hes in love with the new seme. I think he uses the seme as an escape route from his crush. If not, why did he only say it now even though the seme confessed to him ages ago? He is so weak that his strong personality at the office was a sad joke.

i felt like important bits of the background story were missing -- so what about the incestuous rape; did moriyasu remain friends with the brother? was he ever friends with kazuki? shouldn't it be a problem that he didn't lift a finger to help kazuki then? i also feel there isn't enough development of the present-day relationship.

the art is getting better if one compares with previous works, but it's still not blowing me away.

misleading summary

When I read the summary I thought for sure i'd be disappointed..but I still gave it a try cause you never know right? And i'm glad I did. I know that from the summary you'd think that Kazuki's past involved him being inlove with his brother (hence the incest category). If you thought that then you're totally wrong. It wasn't like that at all.

Kazuki's brother raped him out of spite. Bla bla bla. Kazuki has actually been in love with Moriyasu for a long time. Sure, the plot's nothing mind-blowing or that sort..it was pretty predictable but it was still "nice". And it had a consistent flow. There weren't any unecessary "drama". I think the length was just right since I wouldn't want this kind of plot to drag on. Well maybe, an "extra" would've been great. Also, if it were me, I wouldn't wanna have to read an explanation about Kazuki's brother (response to @brid). It would be like reading about Fei Long in Viewfinder. Wasn't that just annoying and a waste of space? So just focusing the story on both the main characters was enough for me. Plus, the characters were just the right blend. I expected to be hit with a desperate seme and an abused uke but that wasn't what I got at all. So you pretty much really have to disregard the raitings and the summary. And come on, the art's gorgeous. Who can actually resist?

Anyway, aside from the main couple, the other one-shots were lacking. The model story didn't move me at all. It was too forced and depended too much on dialogue. The last one was just as shallow. The uke's actions were so generic. I couldn't feel that he really fell in love with the seme. The way the characters were written don't appeal to me. Not my type

The manga has an interesting premise and the art is nice enough, but overall, I was underwhelmed by the story. Given its solid first chapter, I wanted to like this manga more, but unfortunately, there were so many gaps in the plot development that I couldn't fully enjoy the story as I'd wanted to.

In many ways, this manga feels like reading a disorganized summary of a longer manga rather than reading the manga itself. For example, the revelation of the mysterious past incident that drove Kazuki out of his home seems to come out of nowhere as we knew very little about the characters or their relationships with one another prior to that, which was crucial for understanding why/how things turned out as they did. What little explaination the manga does give is quickly rushed through and readers are left to guess about what's left out--namely, the exact nature of the relationship between Moriyasu and Kazuki prior to the incident (were they friends as well? Did they only see one another because of Kazuki's brother?) In general, the exact relationship between Moriyasu, Kazuki, and Kazuki's bother is never adequately explained (which was a VERY important part of the overall story). Not only flashback information, but also present-day events are poorly developed as Kazuki's transformation from streetwise kid to housewife, for instance, is way too sudden to be believable. Why exactly Kazuki ended up the way that he did is also ignored--couldn't he get a job? Didn't he want one?

Besides the main story, the two other oneshots that comprise the volume also feel as though they should've been longer, the plot and characters developed more. Overall, this manga doesn't leave me with a good impression of the mangaka's storytelling abilities or encourage me to seek out more of her works.
