There was so much that I liked about this manga, and even though it was really quite predictable, I enjoyed it a lot. It just hit so many points I really enjoy seeing in BL.
Not to mention the really good art. Very detailed, with a sort of sketchy/etchy feel to it, but still clean, if you catch my drift.
The story begins in middle school, where after being reprimanded for his frowny face by a teacher, seme-kun steps to his defense.
We skip five years, and the boys meet again in uni, with uke-kun being still very much in love. Seme-san's friends invite uke-kun to have drinks with them, where he gets drunk and spills the beans about his one-sided love. Seme-san, while saying he doesn't remember uke-kun (but we later we find out it wasn't true, of course), agrees to go out with him. Uke-kun, being completely inexperienced, is exhilarated. On their first "date", he has his first kiss and first butt fuck. I loved the fact that "preparations" were taking into account. Uke-kun did all the work (even though he was a virgin), but our obtuse seme-san, who's only ever dated girls, went ahead and pumped poor uke-kun from behind, who didn't enjoy the act at all. This I found very realistic and was super happy to find a manga where the sex doesn't end with orgasm. Sad for the uke, interesting for this perverted reader.
So anyways. They go on a couple of "dates" and since uke-kun doesn't say anything, seme-san just continues pumping and leaving poor uke-kun unsatisfied and yet still happy that things are somehow progressing.
Another thing I liked was the friends' reaction to their relationship. They were all very interested in the details, of course. The seme being pretty blunt, as evident from the start, says something pretty shitty "He's the gay one. I'm just doing it the usual", being completely oblivious and uncaring to how this might make uke-kun feel, who gets angry and storms off.
This is the end of chapter chapter 1.
Chapter 2.
After a month of "dating", uke-kun still hasn't said anything to seme-san about not enjoying the sex, but is thrilled when seme-san says he should come over later and he'll cook something nice.
Thinking seme-san wants to celebrate their one month anniversary, uke-kun rushes off to buy a cake and goes back to seme's, only to discovered he's invited friends over.
They're still curious about the couple's sex life, so they ask "show us!". The seme, being chill as the most chilled cucumber, asks if uke-kun if he's ok with that, who finally snaps and starts yelling and spilling everything he's been holding in. How the sex ain't fun, how the seme's an idiot etc'.
Something finally clicks inside seme-san's brain and he sends the friends away, who're all "yeah, we'll let you guys work things out".
He acknowledges being insensitive and not caring what others think of him, but that he still wants to make uke-kun feel good, he just didn't know what to do since he's never been with a guy before, and uke-kun gave him the impression he was all experienced.
And finally, we have lift off. They do it face to face for the first time, with seme-kun helping with the preparations and even giving uke-kuns neglected dick a tug or two.
The full-on censorship left us just the outline of the action area, but it was ok with me, albeit rather disappointing.
Satisfied, uke-fan falls asleep and we find out that seme-kun did remember and even like uke-kun from that time in middle-school.
And that's it. Good stuff.
I have no idea why I bothered writing a detailed description of what had transpired, since you can just go ahead and read it on your own, lol. Whatever~
It was very enjoyable to me. I like a story that doesn't gloss over the messy parts of the relationship. No idea why.
