The story started off strong. We got to meet the protagonist, and his story was compelling. After we were introduced to the love interest and the beginning of their relationship, the story kind of meandered. It felt like it was almost out of order. Once the two characters got to know each other, the story picked up again and followed their journey. However, it did drag a bit until they finally decided to be together, which was the obvious conclusion.

Very rushed

Tayutau Kohaku tells the story of a protagonist who just can’t understand love, he prefers purely physical relationships and sees romance as nothing but a headache that only brings problems.

I found the chemistry between the two leads pretty satisfying. One of them doesn’t know how to express affection at all, while the seems way more mature and somehow manages to understand those little non-verbal cues, witch makes a contrast that works really well.

Unfortunately, the story feels super rushed. There’s no natural build-up showing how the characters start falling for each other, the protagonist seems to have daddy issues, maybe explaining why falls in love with the ML so quickly but the ML didn't really get explained why he fell in love. It kind of feels forced, like their relationship just happens without being properly developed or explained.

Lack of proper build-up

I really enjoy Kagis works. She has a lot of potential as a novice mangaka and knows how to write a good, down to earth and relatable manga.

Although I’m usually reluctant when it comes to this trope (promiscuous uke who doesn’t believe in love), because most authors make their uke unlikable and spoiled.
Thankfully it was not the case here and their relationship was sweet and smooth.

Only issue is that I felt like there was no build-up to their feelings. They met, we got a few panels of them working together, then next thing you know they were in love with each other.
