Description

boring and FL is confusing

It's not even that the ML is abusive (that's horrifying enough if true but it's not) but nothing happens. I'm at ch. 34 and he hasn't physically beat FL or yell at her or has really done anything but be vaguely menacing...from FL's POV.

And since this FL has a spine made of tofu an arched eyebrow from ML would likely send her into panic, flailing mode that does NOTHING but make her look even dumber than she already is. It doesn't help further the plot. It doesn't make the ML understand anything.

I'm pretty sure he's attracted to her sheer stupidity.

ML says unpleasant things, I guess. Unpleasant as in his manner of doing things is selfish. He does NOT demean or belittle FL either. If anything he treats her like a delicate, spun glass pet.

He brings soft food for her when he noticed she didn't eat. He stopped her from injuring herself while suffering a nightmare in her sleep. That's about the only times he snaps at her, raising his voice. He commands her to wake up! He even tells her she's safe.

His internal monologue is all about trying to get her to fall in love with him. Trying to make sure she's not becoming more afraid of him and trying to ease her distress.

I was girding myself for some incredible misery and physical and psychological abuse from ML. Noooope.

FL is giving herself mini heart attacks evry time ML shows up because she's convinced ML is still the nasty, heartless tyrant of the novel. (Which, don't get me wrong, he still is. Except not towards FL whom he simply teases.) She can't see that he hasn't actually done anything to her in reality....after the first 12 chapters, in any case.

DNF - literally nothing appealing about the ML

Vibe of their relationship ~ An abusive and condescending man dragging her by the wrist while calling her stupid and weak. Meanwhile the FL trembles, cries, falls to her knees and hugs him.

ML just keeps going on and on again about how weak she [the FL] is, how small she is and mocking her for being stupid. And he’s supposed to be the love interest? While she’s trembling and terrified of him?

Then he drugs her until she becomes a manic, bloodthirsty hunter?

This shouldn't have the romance tag. It is ropan/rofan, but the 'Romance' in ropan refers to the narrative genre in literature and in Korea is more used to clarify that the setting is western/medieval. The tags on the original Korean are not romantic ones.

I do feel like the title is a bit of a misdirect (I assume intentional) because that makes it sound like your usual transmigration romantic comedies... it is not that. Every time they set up a 'romantic scene' with blushing, etc., the punchline is that he does something even more awful--like, "no, he's a psycho, remember?" ML is a sociopathic tyrant, not a tragic misunderstood yandere.

I go back-and-forth on whether or not this is well-written... realistically, she would have to be way more clever to survive this strategy game. Even being "interesting" to him wouldn't cut it, and I feel like she immediately would've failed at that anyway, from his perspective. There are also some pretty glaring inconsistencies in just the first 25 chapters. I like the concept, but it's not really living up to my initial expectations...

I like the 20 chapters I read, and no-- I'm not here from the novel version. If you're talking about the novel version, please review that somewhere else. This is for the manhwa.

Anyways, as the summary promised, male lead is indeed a crazy psycho no doubt. But why is he so attractive? Cause as the meme said: "If evil, why hot??"
