This series started off great, really gripping and suspenseful as thrillers/horrors/mysteries usually are (...should I update the genres...?), and it successfully got me hooked that I binge read this series all in one go, but the ending, particularly chapter 44, was where it fell apart for me. Sigh. It was quite interesting, but too many loopholes and flaws especially with the main antagonist towards the end that it just lost its touch and appeal (didn't make sense after a while). And the supernatural abilities of the characters were not explained well.

Hmmm it's too bad, the ending was quick and rushed and more than a bit sloppy, I felt, but overall it was still good and fast read. I liked it enough. I would recommend it. 👍

Great horror and thriller, gripping suspense, was definitely creepy with its dark atmosphere.. But otherwise, I couldn't bring myself to like the overall story.

The theme is something along the lines of "don't hide away from your fears, face them head-on", but this was poorly tied to the MC's mind reading ability and it just wasn't brought out well in the story. Although the mind reading was not explained, it leaves room for imagination -- potential for a spin-off or continuation -- which is fine for an open-ended finale...

But that alter-ego character was a super lazy deus ex machina. Ikhyeon was the same too -- his character didn't do much except help resolve MC's conflicts (bless him though, he and Yerim and Jeong were the best).
MC only gets help from others and doesn't evolve on his own. Even the alter ego kept saying it too: stop relying on him! Bonggang was such a weak, nooby character that I couldn't root for him at all. It was so cringey to read on about what he'd do. Not sure how he even changed at the last chapter with the 2 yr time skip.

The storytelling could have been better.
