Description
Silver, from the moment he was born, was destined to be a hunting dog. Named for the silver stripe on his body, his fate is sealed when his father is killed by the ferocious bear Akakabuto - to be the one who kills Akakabuto. From that moment on, he vows to grow up, to become a strong enough dog, to slay the bear who stole his father's life.

Note: Won the Shogakukan Manga Award for best Shounen in 1987.

This manga will always be a part of my top 10. It is the first i've read to have a puppy hero and the plot is interresting as well. The author does go a bit overboard with what dogs are really capable of, but it's a manga so who cares XD. I highly recommend this for those who like dogs and want something different to read.
