The backstory in this one is largely irrelevant. He could've woken up with amnesia and the gluttony power in a gate and the story would effectively be the same. He doesn't act like someone who has lived 10000 years, especially not 10000 years away from human civilization. That's longer than human civilization has even existed in our world, yet he remembers every facet of his life prior to his time in hell. He knows every word, law, and concept from that time and doesn't struggle to communicate with anyone outside of the new player and gate systems. Even those he understands in literal pages.

The other characters are weak as hell too. Every single one just exists to further the power fantasy. Women love him and men want to be him. Antagonists only exist to make him look better as he effortlessly crushes them and have no existence outside of their relationship to him. It's so bad the first woman he meets watches him brutalize and torture a guy harassing her, and all she thinks is "he saved me again uwu~" rather than "Oh, they're both terrible psychos and I should distance myself."

Even the battles are kinda subpar. He never struggles and outright forgets 99% of his abilities in combat, instead resorting to stabbing and slashing til the enemy is dead. You'd think giving your MC a variety of powers like illusions and mind tricks could lead to some neat moments, but nope, these powers only exist to grease the wheels of plotholes outside of combat.

It's just not that good. If all you're looking for is a power fantasy with nice art, though, you might be satisfied.

The series is pretty mediocre and was carried by it's artstyle and visuals. It became bland in season 2

It was obvious that the 10 000 years, his powers unlocking with the levels and the doors sealing another part of his powers, sounded as a terrible excuse to ass pull power ups later on, whenever the author wanted. The action and amoral MC made up for those posible developments ... That is until we are presented with the other guardians. From that point onwards the most forced plot ever starts to advance telling us little by little some of the recurring elements. BUT the MC turns into an edgy asshole and the author uses edgy boxed logic to kill of whoever he wants while leaving the MC in a "superior" moral standing, wining even when he should lose.

All this together with how hypocritical the MC, his lack of initiative and the nonexistent challenges makes the manwa feel like a third rate incremental rpg game on easy mode. I mean FFS the progres outside the status window of his allies is nonexistent.
