There are a few issues I have with this Manhua.
The biggest issue being the art direction and how the story is presented to us. It is rather choppy. Sometimes I mistook the area they had transitioned us to for another place, other times important scenes that should help you convey the emotions of a character are missing, so you don't understand why they are changing their mood, or why they are changing their mind about something. Stuff just sort of happens because the plot said this should be the next scene, with very little smoothing out of character emotion transitions.
Next would be the Dialog
A lot of times it can feel really stale, or very carbon copy. As if the characters are just reading the script of some cliche drama, this might just be do to the lack or art direction causing a domino effect. With no art direction to help emphasize the emotion of a character, the dialog lacks a place to stem from, or it could just be not enough show and too much tell going on, or even just a translation issue messing stuff up.
Then there is the art.
It is a bit distracting. Not all the time though. There are a lot of inconsistencies, but the real issue is the eye positioning, they always seem to be floating away or falling off of peoples faces, and in one scene, the eye was so far off that the kid looked like a cyclops. The art isn't bad...just REALLY distracting.
Lastly the characters.
For now everyone is sort of 1 dimensional, but that can easily change of course. My biggest grip is with the FL. I understand that she is weary, suspicious, and uncomfortable around the ML. But good grief does she have an attitude problem. The man leaves you with his home and all that you will ever need in life, risk his life in war and has to come home to her crappy attitude. She notices something is wrong with him and you would think she'd try to chummy up to him with some tea or something to investigate, nah lets kill him, she doesn't like him anyway, who cares if her son would be devastated. It makes no sense for her, a mother, who knows her son has been DYING to reunite with his father to so quickly settle on killing him with literally not a drop of guilt or remorse shown. It makes no sense, why is she so insensitive to her sons feelings when the Manhua made it a point to show off how much she worries over her son? It baffles me!
