Big, fat like! Finally, a charming, visually elegant manhua with some background that will make me want to read it from top to bottom! While it's not a super addictive pleasure that will grip you and won't let you go, this is more of a refined, mild tea that will satisfy your palate but will give you a slight kick with a lemony zest! Where to start - first, the art is simply yummy! I adore manhua art that falls outside the box, and this one does and with a style so exquisite and graceful one can't but enjoy. The muted colors, the outdoor scenes, the colorful characters... Everything is on point.
Storywise, while not anything close to what Tolstoy wrote, it's a bit better than the usual fare. The story does have the classical transmigration backbone, but there are a few interesting things that keep it up par - the FL is strong as an ox (but not a kick ass fighter), she's a very mature, level headed person but not too much of a Mary Sue, the ML is definetly not cookie cutter! We learn early on that is he feigning his disability, and his porcelain like beauty, his airy, dry, gossamer-like demeanor is so out of this word, like he's a celestial being, so rarely seen in manhua! He's definitely a very feminine ML, but not in a overtly blunt way, to kudos to that! The story was just starting to unravel, and I like how proactive the FL is, and can see the potential. Of course thete are back stabbing harem women, but you kind of understand them, the ML has been totally separated from everyone in his household that all of them are desperate for one touch of his attention. Some powerful stuff here. And the fragrace backdrop fits in perfectly with the overall feel of the manhua. Caustion, this is a slow burn and anyone expecting extreme romantic stuff will be dissapointed. But hey, for specific tastes, an ace!
All in all, a winner! Read it!
