Issues, but Readable.

This is the story of a man who wants a simple life with a family of his own being forced into becoming a hero with a harem. He fights this every step of the way, and is thus

convinced to drink by the women around him which lowers his inhibitions, and thus he gathers his harem.

There are so many problems when it comes to how the harem is being formed, and quite frankly, if the intended audience wasn't male, there would be serious questions about the message young women may get out of it.

With that said, although the seams do show at times, the story is competently written. It's not a masterpiece—and the rare nudity/sex scenes are entirely unnecessary—but it also doesn't fall into naivety. Characters learn and develop, and the story is aware of many of the negatives that most other harem stories forget.

In fact, the previous hero

was killed by one of his wives, who was jealous that she seemed to have fallen out of favor with him.

That's honestly the most realistic take I've seen about harems in a long time. Last time was a brilliant fanfiction called "Do Me A Wrong" (which objectively has a better story than most published harem manga written today).

The art is nice (much nicer than the cover I'm seeing here of the brown haired girl of the 6th volume).

I wouldn't say this is for most people, but it isn't a terrible read as far as plot and characterization go.

Okay, he's not a bitch bitch. But he's one of those MCs that can never stand his ground. And that's a bitch trait. Not once has he firmly asserted what he does and does not want. If I were him, I'd threaten the holy sword that I'll place it back on the stone and leave it there if it doesn't chill the eff out. I choose who I want to be a princess. I choose whether or not I want to add more. I choose wherever and whenever I make love to these women. Makes you think who really the master is in this manga. From the looks of it, it's the sword. Not the MC.

He got tricked twice into sleeping with another girl. Not that I don't want to see him get more women but it would be better if it was his choice to do so. Yeah, he's strong and stuff but he didn't earn it. He got jebaited and just got stronger by default because thats how the holy sword works. That's LAME. The context of it being a trick is what annoys me so much.

The MC tries to be a faithful and honest person. He's always afraid that he'll anger the women. That's an admirable trait. He's even terrified when he learned that the previous hero was killed by one of his women. His apprehension to get more women willy nilly is even more justified. It would be better if each and every single one of them spent their time to truly get to know Lucas and each other. We had that with Aria and Krusha. But zero of it with Runa. She just decided one day to give herself to him. Why? Because the previous hero did so? Stupid. She's an NPC. She loves him because he killed a Minotaur? Oh, please.
