Description

The story is about a young male prostitute named Aya and a former assassin named Chris. Aya's father murdered his mother in front of him, then forced him into prostitution. Since that time, he has always been looking for a way to inflict his revenge. Chris is just that method. After Chris saves Aya from his pimp, they form a fairly deep friendship, and Chris decides to make Aya his Last Client.

On hiatus. Damn. I really have a huge problem with good mangas on hiatus. I didn't know that it wasn't finished so when it started do be sort of scatchy I was like 'NO, what is going on??' And it was even more dissapointing because it was the (long awaited) sex-scene that wasn't in clean manga style anymore. It's actually a waste. Because Takashima Kazusa IS a talanted manga artist and I really love her drawing style!
I still hope that she'll finish her works one day. I don't know what her status is right now, but it'd be really cool if she continued to create mangas.

that's one of the best (not finished) yaoi i've ever read! 2 people with a dark past meet, fall for each other and face this cruel world together... so, the plot is nice but dark, the art, well, we all know sensei's art is the best when it comes to drawing bishies, I just wish takashima-sensei gets back to the manga world and continues with this series soon!

If anyone's wondering, she's been banned from making any more manga, that's why her manga are on hiatus.
It's sad because they won't be finished 🙁

i LOVE takashima kazusa's works...
she was one of my first and still one of my favorite mangakas. ever.
i especially love last client; the story is really intriguing and in my opinion, the characters are really well developed.
howeverrr...i'm absolutely heartbroken that this one and alot of her other works are STILL on hiatus...
i've been waiting for about five years now and i can still wait five more
as long as i know she hasn't completely given up and there's still a chance to read more...

It was good, but I think I expected too much from this one. It seemed like a very sad story, and just didn't really reach the point to me.
Not that it's a new plot, the mafia/prostitute thing, but I'm always drawn to these kinds of stories. But I think Takashima-sensei gave the spotlight to parts that didn't deserve it, and left what I really wanted to see on the corner.
I do hope it's continued, because it was getting better as they were starting to express their feelings (especially Asahi).
But chapter 7 is a total shame. I mean, the best part, when they finally got together (or at least slept together) had the art unfinished?!
As for the artstyle on the other parts, I don't think it is the best as people said, but I've a seen a lot worse and this one is totally ok (except that Chris' expressions are strange sometimes).

I don't know if I recommend it, because poor people will get trapped waiting for this to be finished some day...

okay so i read this manga and i love it!! i love the drawing style and the whole plot thing but i swear there was anothing part in ch7... I'm not sure if i dreamt it up or takashima Kazusa redrew it but wasn't there a part where Aya got taken back with his father? like he was found? well... maybe i read it up to ch6 then didnt read ch7 so i rethought of my own chapter... (i sometimes do that ... weird i know lol) but i love her work and i hope she contiunes this 🙂

I've read Takashima's Wild Rock and fell in love with her art, story, and characters. Last Client is absolutely brilliant. Even though 6 chapters have been translated and is currently on Hiatus. You grasp the sense of the characters' personalities in each chapter you read.

Takashima-san, rise one day and grace this world with your wonderful work. Print here in the States if you must. Know that you are loved by your fans.

I read this manga at least once a year and every time I feel like leaving a different review. I also like it better and better as time goes by, so that must mean something.

Plot-wise, Last Client is probably one of the greatest mangas I've read so far. I know the whole prostitute/mafia is not new, but Takashima-sensei did her homework and delivered perfectly (although not entirely, for we know this has been on Hiatus since forever). There's an originality to these characters and the way their paths cross that really blows my mind. At end of the day, Asahi "Aya" and Chris' relationship is all the more pure, and slowly but surely you just want them to live a happy life together.

The art is yet not convincing enough for me to rate this series a straight 10 out of 10, even though we do have some beautiful shots (may I remind Aya in the shower? Lol). You've probably seen worse, most definitely, but it takes some time to grow on you. As for the 7th chapter, I digress... sensei was probably behind schedule or something.

Anyway, long story short, what we have here is a terrible loss. I'm afraid Last Client won't be continued (as many others works from the same author) and that's just unbearable. I understand, more or less, the story behind Takashima-sensei being banned but there's really no excuse for keeping a great author from finishing her goddamn work - and which is equally great!

A really intriguing and interesting plot different from her usual themes. It was a pity that this is on hiatus, and even more saddening that the reason behind the hiatus was because of the law suit against Kayoko's plagiarism on Takashima-sensei's "Wild Rock".

I do hope that she'll one day finish this series off. A far-fetched hope maybe, it's a waste of an excellent story in the making.

amazing, simply beautiful and charming. the story is one of the best I have read so far. deep characters, wonderful art, interesting plot line, professional style. this is a must read.
