Description

Corporate secretary Shirotani suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. One day he meets Kurose, a therapist who offers to take him through a ten-step program to cure him of his compulsion. As the two go through each of the ten steps, Shirotani 's attraction to his counselor grows.

I liked it at first. Takarai's art sure is beautiful and the plot seems interesting. But i feel like she's trying too hard to make it smutty, S&M. And i seriously don't like it. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE dark, S&M, dramatic yaoi but this makes me uncomfortable because everything just develope too quickly
I will still read it though

nice premise, disappointing half-way

I always love her works and I'm really excited to find this.
The phobia, I don't know much about the actual one, but I think it's portrayed pretty nicely, though maybe not real enough. But as everyone pointed out, starting volume 2 it became a disappointment. I don't like how Kurose

touched Shirotani. I mean, he assaulted his patient!! It's a criminal act and can make him traumatized

And surprisingly, Shirotani too

I get that your feeling start wavering after meet Kurose. But is that a reason for not rejecting him touching you all over? And you even said something like "taint me more". wtf?!

And like that, suddenly it become one of those cliche-smutty-yaoi, with no real plot. If I want read smutty stuff, I would pick a really smutty title, not a supposedly fluffy story like this.

I think Rihito-sensei tried too hard too make a smutty yaoi. I love how she is really good at making a slow paced story and the characters are well developed. If this keep on, I would prefer she goes back writing shonen-ai stuff than yaoi. This way a good concept will go in vain because of your attempt to make a "yaoi" 🙁

I'll still read it, for the art though.

Sensei Takarai Rihito never disappoints us

If you are a fan of fulfilling stories, character development and beautiful art, this manga is for you. Any manga written by Sensei Takarai is a master piece. I fell in love with Hana no mizu shiru and it is still one of my favourite mangas (top 5 for sure), and I am quite interested in this new one. As other people mentioned, the approach to the psychological aspect is quite interesting and not think thin-skinned as it happens in many other mangas. I hope the group will continue to scan this becuase I am already anticipating an incredible story and I am looking forward to it.

Update: Sadly, as many people have mentioned already, this manga has turned out a little bit dissapointing. I just feel the mangaka has rushed somehow the pace and it just does not feel as it did at the beginning. I still enjoy the reading, since I love the art and I don't dislike the story, but it is definitely not as good as other mangas from the same mangaka. 🙁

I do think that Kurose was definitely forceful to Shirotani, who has a debilitating condition. Even though the way Kurose moved the relationship was interesting, I don't think doing what he did to a molysmophobic person in reality would be a good idea.

Don't know where people are seeing abuse in this story or The fact the kurose forces the main character to do anything. Most of the time he asked shirotani to do just about anything and his true motives and feelings. And mostly Shirotani either secretly wants it's anyway. Now Kuro may force one thing or two be shirotani again already knows it. After so many series that I read where the character just get the main character drunk and forces him to have sex, rapes the main character to understand his feelings, or just does it cause he feels like it. This one is not one of them.

The artwork has been seen and done before. Nothing new but certainly isn't ugly to look at.

Story is simple with a man trying to get cured of his problem. It's a rare treat and can't get complex after on. Does get somewhat dark and sexual but it not every chapter. Sometimes the two just go shopping, or help the main character with another cure which can't always be cured.

Love it. Love it.

Disappointed

To tell you the truth i'm a bit disappointed..., it started out really well, had good and awkward characters, there was something in the air that made butterflies in the stomach, angst, cuteness and plot. But now it has losen everything that it was and became a hard yaoi without plot... Although i'll continue reading, i feel like it can't really give me anything anymore... It's a shame, really... I was hoping that this one will be unique. But i have to give merit to the art!

I really don't want to use that word, but let me be honest, that's the first thing appeared in my mind when I read the latest chapters. Takarai Rihito's art is fine, but her characters' talks and dialogues are like they were written by a porn mangaka who keeps on writing meaningless sentences as long as they leads to the sex scenes. There's a serious lack of depth. Seven Days was good, but that was because only the art belonged to Takarai Rihito, and the story was TACHIBANA Venio's (though I was a bit disappointed with the ending). So Takarai still needs to practice writing more, in my opinion.

when i started reading this manga i thought it would be a simple, sweet story of shirotani overcoming his mysophobia while gently falling in love at the same time. it's a common premise with a better take on mysophobia than others mangas, though still imperfect, but i thought rihito-sensei would do it well and give us a sweet story like hana no mizo shiru.

BOY WAS I WRONG. LOL

somewhere in the story the tone suddenly shifts and kurose is definitely out for shirotani's body. there's some s&m overtones and it becomes clear that the psychological part is actually the struggle between shirotani's obvious feelings and his mysophobia. kurose's s&m angle is just a bonus, i guess. there is definitely some dub con scenes though to kurose's credit, he's much more respectful than any other rapey semes i've seen (lol), but dub con is dub con.

so yeah, started reading it for the story, stayed for the sexual tension and the smut, i guess. xD

edit: finished the story, finally xD

everyone defending this saying "the romance is slowly developed!" and "the characters are complex because they have backstories!" need to sit down. I suppose there's romance and backstory there, but it's minimally developed at best. This is one of the hottest and best developed flat our smut/porn yaoi series I've read. Absolutely nothing more. None of the backstory or developments made me feel emotionally for any of the characters, just provided me with more insights to their motivations. Which is fine because now I know why they want to fuck each other so badly LOL

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this being purely a sex story. That's what it is, let's face it. It's hot and fairly well written S&M themed porn.

Hmmm, I see a lot of discussion on the "rape culture" perpetuated in this manga. I'm stuck in a dilemma because I agree, but I adore the manga at the same time. It's one true guilty pleasure - the storyline is great, the smut is great, and the art is great. Shirotani's (pained) expressions take the cherry on the cake, though. What's not to love?

The art is fabulous. I love its clean-cut nature, and both Shirotani and Kurose are gorgeous hunks. The sameface syndrome isn't quite bad (in part due to Shirotani's mole below his eye), though it threatens to rear its ugly head on some occasions.
The story's premise is unique and it started off very well. Even though there are many complaints with the story moving too fast, I thought the pace was alright. It is a problem that we don't get to see things from Kurose's point of view, because from the hints we've been given, he seems to be dying of sexual frustration. Yay to more smut!
Smut, the reason I read this shrug... the author delivers, and she delivers wonderfully. I'm officially hooked. Controversial opinion: I prefer Shirotani to Kurose, because he's such a tease. Aw yea.

P/S: in defense of Kurose's rapey S tendencies, he has shown to care for Shirotani.

Other than the first "sexual assault" in the clinic, he really hasn't done much to invade Shirotani's personal space. He respects Shiro for the most part: he doesn't coerce him to do anything e.g. drinking the water or taking the train, and only touches him when absolutely necessary. As for the remaining sexual encounters, Shirotani literally asked for it, as in - "please touch me there"?!?!?!? Just a point to consider.
