Their first interaction happened when it was raining. Shigure was without an umbrella at a convenience store when Ugetsu bumped into him and offered to lend him an umbrella from his apartment nearby.

They got immersed in their conversations and Shigure ended up overstaying but ever since then, the two hit it off and started to always do things together.

As Ugetsu's apartment becomes a more comfortable place for him, when Shigure received a duplicate key from Ugetsu, he couldn't help but feel happy about it. Over time, both of them could feel that their feelings of friendship was starting to change into something else.

This made Ugetsu feel conflicted and in his attempt to keep Shigure as only a friend, he decided to try having a normal romance and started going out with a woman he met from his part-time job.

But that just brought about a heavy cloud over their fate together instead...
