This is one of the first mangas I read with that BL undertone in it and I LOVED IT. The art can be a bit jank at times and the story telling technique lacks finesse but this manga makes up for it with a whole lot of bromance and a unique and interesting plot overall. Seriously, I've probably read half of the mangas in all of existence at this point and this story still stands out from the others. The real centerpiece of this manga, however, is how fricken awesome the bromance is. Grade A Bromance. The Kobe Beef of bromances. Its special because its not shounen ai at all, its solidly bromance. There isn't any romantic subtext between the two male leads, its just pure hearted devotion and friendship. And their relationship is so wholesome and great, I fricken love it. I also have a thing for that master/servant relationship if done right. Honestly, this manga (and its prequel Shirogane no Ou) could have been a legit series, maybe even anime worthy if: 1. The author hired a better artist and 2. The editor streamlined and polished the way some parts of the story played out. Overall, it had good ideas and is a solid manga for young/starting out manga readers. I definitely recommend this.
Must be read together with Shirogane no Ou

Shirogane no Ou, is, in essence, the character introduction and world building that paves the way for the plot proper, which begins to unfold in earnest in Shirogane no Ou - Fenrir Craft. Both series have to be read together if you're to be able to appreciate the story.
It's difficult to pinpoint any particular reason for my loving this manga so much, but I do. The setting's fairly original, and while the characters aren't in any way cliche-free, they're more endearing and well-constructed than your average stereotypes, which makes them oddly alluring.
Sadly, the series was axed at 3 volumes (the one-volume prequel plus these two volumes), leaving one major plot thread resolved but the other barely addressed. Still, I don't consider my time as having been wasted: it was an incredibly fun ride while it lasted.

Amazing how the author jumped from the prequel to this cuz I was not expecting that... Kinda wished this was a series.. That was FREAKING awesome!! The ending could have been better but overall it was still sweet. Feels more like just a volume ending instead of a series ending, you know, it feels like an arc ending instead of the real ending, or something like that...
Just note that this series has been dropped after the first chapter and the RAW scanlations skip chapter 3-7 and I don't know why... Therefore purchasing it would be a good idea I guess... If not then let's just pray someone will pick it up to be translated cuz it's really worth reading!
