Youkai Gakuenki

The art is very cute and the characters are enjoyable. There are some really funny parts here, but it falls a little short of being a comedic classic. Still, it's a lighthearted and enjoyable read 🙂

It's cute and a little funny, but...

The drawings are good and it's all very cute, that's for sure. The jokes made me laugh a couple of times, so I'd call it light humor (I mean that there's comedy, but comedy isn't the main focus). Most of the characters are pretty interesting, but Yuu's character is a bit flat, it would have been better if there was some more dimension--but I'm not that fond of the spacey-dumb-kind-hearted type, so it might just be me. The problem, though, is that there are homosexual relationships, treated as if they are a good thing. If you try very hard, you can imagine that Nogiku is just a very possesive friend with Yuu (Reika likewise with Nogiku), but realistically, it's there. It just isn't right to be amused by other people's personal problems, even if those people are fictional, so... it's really not nice if someone writes a story with that purpose in mind... it's almost like making fun of them. It's a bummer too, since without that problem this manga is really enjoyable and cute.

Really enjoyable. The story is almost like a drama told from a comedic point of view, but also has some cuuuute moments that may make the reader go BAAAW.
