7 chapters in I have to say that the FL's very elegant, articulate arguments are absolutely wasted. There's no consequences for anyone so far.

Every time she puts effort into anything someone else will snatch the limelight to come to her rescue, or do something dramatic. Like running off to escape her in a boat that they, apparently, forgot they deliberately made leaky in the first place to bully FL and drown her...in order to get away from FL?

Yeah. It's a lot and incredibly tedious. It keeps happening, too.

FL has the patience of a literal saint. She refuses to psychologically smack some sense into her parents. If she's truly as smart as her debates are full on telling us she is she would have found a way to put her parents in their place a long time ago. Unfortunately, the author made her intellect performative instead of an integral part of her character.

She's only smart and well spoken against inconsequential people -- to her point of view, and those people encompasses a prince, the crown prince and a Duke's daughter. Towards the ones that directly affects her everyday life and mental well-being? She's as silent as a mime.

Her sister is a lost cause. I'm not surprised FL doesn't even try to reason with someone who has the emotional intelligence of a sheltered, cosseted princess-in-a-tower and who is all of 9 years old mentally.

This is the team's first series so that explains quite a few things. I hope these things will be ironed out in future chapters.

EDIT: holy shit. It took an entire volume for FL to firmly say NO to her shitty family. That's a whole season in webtoon manhwa terms. A whole goddamn season.

EDIT 2: NOOOO, FL deserves to be in a story thats not this over the top, stupidly ridiculous. Ugh. I have second hand embarrassment for everyone involved in the making of this shit show.

EDIT 3: Holy shit ×2. This team of creators obviously had a very stern talking-to by someone somewhere.

After the idiotic amnesia arc absolving the sister of any wrongdoing because they introduced an evil, psychotic mom who made the sister that way they then introduced the ML's sister...who was trying to pull similar if ineffectual bullying...because her mom, the queen, was manipulating her as well.

This new arc with the ML's sister and the queen is a lot more mature, sedate and grounded than anything that came before.

Well, that maturity didn't last long. We get introduced to some incredibly stupid, petty little bitches who are somehow their country's representative in the next arc. During FL's ceremony no less.

This was a 0 then got a 1 and now I'm giving it a tepid 2. Back to a 1. Final verdict at Vol 3 ch20 is: 0.

Since I can't do that it's a 1 here.
