Description

Sisters Ju-eun and Hyejin grew up in absolute poverty. After their mother’s death, Hyejin accepts the offer to join their estranged father’s wealthy family. But when Hyejin turns out dead just three years later, Ju-eun is grief-stricken. I’m just gonna reiterate what everyone else is already saying… where is the sister!?

Well-written with compelling and complex characters. It was sad and uplifting and I loved it. The only reason I didn’t rate it higher because the plot did leave a little to be desired nearer the end, and I want to know so badly why the main factor in season 1, that being the relationship between the sisters, was completely blindsided in the second. We didn’t even get an ending with the sister in person 🙁 now what is up with that.

Aside from that, I really felt touched by the things the characters experienced and said. There was a lot that the author wanted to say that came through and it makes you think on it. I was totally surprised too that a character that had been set up to be despised eventually broke down the walls around him and I got to actually really like him. Very nicely done how the author twisted the narrative on that character.

The romance in this was top-notch. I’m a real sucker for fate and world-defying devotion and they were so sweet and even mostly healthy!! Always a plus.

Interesting enough in the beginning

The ending was rushed. The story had definitely more to give but at the end it didn't. In the beginning there is this mystery that kept me reading but after the first season I think the webtoons is not really worth it.

Regression plots are not that uncommon these days, but I still enjoyed the conflicts presented and love how they met each other in their backstory.

Update: so I written my comment above 2 episodes before the series finale in Webtoon (April 26th, 2023). So as of May 18, 2023, I just had to change my rate from 8.5 to 7.5 because of the ending

I mean, I liked the story in between, but man... the ending was different from what i expected.

Unfortunately, we never got an ending with her sister. It's like the author suddenly forgot that the sister was alive in the current timeline. Istg, I would've been so satisfied with just a quick end scene being happy with her sis or what. So far, we haven't heard if there would be spin-offs? Would probably help with some of the loose ends with the other issues. Anyway, it's supposed to be an important moment because everything started with her death, so it feels lacking that we never got to see her at all during most of the episodes. Would cheer for them and Seontae.

But overall, I'm mostly satisfied except for that part.

this is a solid time-travel k-drama in the making. love the way it deals with mature themes in a fairly real and sensitive way. it's also weaving in fantastical elements to get you hooked and waiting for a new twist. probably a slow burner but the tension is good.
