Description
A collection of oneshots.
Hatshepsut - Beginning in 1511 B.C. Egypt, where two sisters -- the clever Menou and the beautiful but spacey Seshen -- are taken in by the family of the pharaoh for their ability to heal wounds. There, they meet Hatshepsut, the beautiful androgynous daughter of the pharaoh and future queen, who is said to be more suited to rule than her husband. She and Seshen quickly take a liking to each other, much to Menou's displeasure.
Hatshepsut II - A look into Hatshepsut's childhood, as she grew from a simple tomboy to a girl determined to become pharaoh.
Other oneshots: Chi... More...

VERY light shoujo-ai-ish.

I am not into shoujo-ai, so I let this short manga slip of my mind for a long time. Lucky for me there weren't many shoujo-ai scenes but even if there were some, they were done really well. I liked the clean and androgynous art. The plot was a bit mysterious but planned out nicely. I would have loved to see at least two more chapters!

all i wanted to say was said so all i could add is that IT WAS TOOOOOO SHORT. The shoujo ai wasnt what I expected. There was not much into the story though. I liked it but it was too...dull. But nice if you're bored.
Awesome.

Its defiently worth the read,
and I think Tarutufo has pretty much summed up everything I could've/would've said. Don't be put off by the shoujo-ai tag though.

Yamagishi Ryouko is easily one of my favorite mangakas of all time, and I've been waiting DESPERATELY for this manga of hers to be scanlated. Thank you, Lililicious, for another awesome project.
There's no summary posted at this stage, but for those of you that don't know, Hatshepsut was a Pharaoh of Egypt and one of the most successful in Egyptian history, too. It was very unusual for a woman to be the Pharaoh, but she was widely respected and did great things for her country. It may have been just a ploy to gain political power, but she "lived as a man" in many ways - she cross-dressed, for example, and wore a false beard. That this manga takes a shoujo-ai outlook on her life makes it even more interesting in my opinion, because this is something I've always wondered about Hatshepsut myself... I strongly suggest reading this article if you're curious about the gender and sexuality issues surrounding Hatshepsut.
Anyway, if you want an excellent historical manga, look no further! Rejoice that this manga is finally being scanlated, more than a decade after it was first created.
Edit: Just a comment on the anglicized title, "Hatshepsut: The One and Only Female Pharaoh in an Ancient Egyptian Dynasty". Hatshepsut was not the only female Pharaoh in history, but she was the most prominent/famous one. I just thought I ought to clarify that.
