Description

Otoji is searching for his older brother in seedy, urban Yokosuka. During this search he meets up with Joe, a fashionable prostitute who eventually joins him with his search. Along the way Joe aquaints him with the wonders of sex and prostitution, and the flexibility of being both seme and uke! But while Otoji deals with the search he and Joe face the darker side of their lifestyle.

This yaoi is good. Yes, it is quite old. Yes, the artwork is really 'the 90s-ish' (but tolerable). Yes, the clothes are at times rather odd. Haha!

But putting that aside, this is quite an entertaining read. A yaoi-classic, if you like. There's plot, depth and a catchy story of a kind of forbidden love. Definitely worth a yaoi-fan's time. But there are quite many fairly explicit intimate scenes (plus S&M and rape scenes, etc.), so if you've mostly read soft shounen-ai mangas, this might not be for you - yet.

Dramatic and Engaging

If I had not read a terrible manga that was hard to follow before this one, then I probably would not be able to appreciate it. The pro's are that the storyline is full of twists and turns, is sort of realistic, well as realistic as can be in a dramatic yakuza storyline. I also like the fact she has addictional characters that add depth. I even felt that some of the lines were rather awe inspiring when taken out of context. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of her artwork (although the storyline does make up for it). And a warning to anyone who is about to embark on this manga, it has some very explicit themes that for me, made me feel a little uncomfortable at times. Despite that, it's an engaging story I will continue reading.

As usual sensei's work is the best. She is able to portray the emotions, intimate scenes and the drama in a gripping way with the simplest gestures from the characters. This story is no exception to that, the plot is intense making you have a look at the dark side of the world without feeling disgusted but actually appreciating and understanding the story. I even had to look through the raws because that 3 volume at the end sure left me in a cliffhanger but i loved that ending.

I am totally addicted to this manga so far up to the end of volume 3. The art isn't to my liking but the storyline is good and has a lot of twists to the plot.
