I liked it

I can understand how some have given this much lower ratings, there are times in the story i want to throttle something, but overall i rather enjoyed it, and i enjoyed the art work. Some of the characters are a little weak, its like the mangaka tried to develop them but somehow they still wound up feeling a little superficial. The story is nothing new or special, but it still holds enough drama and mystery to make you interested. That said, the mystery element isnt strong, i guessed pretty soon what had happened and who was responsible. I also guessed exactly how it might end xD its quite predictable in that sense. But i rate according to how much i enjoyed it - and i really did enjoy it, so, 9/10 for enjoyability. As for originality, character and story development - nothing special 7/10 generously speaking.

halfcooked reproduction

Don't get me wrong, I don't expect originality of every BL manga that I read. All I ask is a satisfying moe-ish development or something funny, and both criteria aren't met.

The halfcooked reproduction refers to Kishidou Club, with the difference that Kishidou Club was first, and the story is spread over two volumes, instead of being cramped in one tankouban like in Uruwashiki Wana.

To be honest, I rather liked the first half of the first chapter. The uke is a decent person, and despite his wealth he helps those who are weak. I figure he was supposed to be the "cold beauty"-type. But then the cliches hit out of the blue, without any passion enweaved to touch the readers' moe-points. None of the characters are decently fleshed out, so we don't feel with ANY of the flat characters.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I can't fathom how ridiculously doting the grandsons are on their grandfather, and how that powerful grandfather could be so NAIVE to NOT to believe his own grandson. It frustrated me to no end that the uke didn't feel any rage, that his whole family had to suffer because the grandfather was so shortsighted.
Another thing that frustrated me terribly, even after the truth was exposed, he only got a small apology, and Kyouya still was to become chief of the family.

AAAARGH! I gotta get it out, this is a RIDICULOUS story, read on your own risk!

It's Boring

I struggled to find any interest in Uruwashiki Wana. I never usually have a problem chewing my way through volumes of Yaoi, but I gave up on this one before the end and read the last couple of chapters a few days later. Why? I was bored. It couldn't hold my attention the entire way through and there are very obvious reasons why this was the case.
First of all, the story was dull. It's been done so many times before. I never really walk into Yaoi and expect something new every time. But the mangaka failed to add any spice to it. It was a cut and paste story with different pictures.
Secondly, the characters were dull and shallow. Itsuki and Kyouya could have had much more depth to their characters, but the mangaka fails to get there. Nishimura tries a little too hard to introduce many characters, and never really explores any of them. It's especially disappointing, considering we know as much about the protagonist as we do the couple of guys he met on his first day at school.
Nishimura's art style is nice and clean, but with the outpouring of quality new Yaoi mangaka, it's not as satisfying as it used to be. The story had the basis for a good drama, but never quite managed to grasp it. Perhaps it was too ambitious a storyline for her abilites?
In any case, my rating of 6 out of 10 was being generous. Fans of this mangaka will still like and read the series. Rightly so. However, to anyone who is thinking of reading this; you have been warned. Of course, you might really enjoy it. I, on the other hand, nearly yawned myself to death.

Quite a satisfying one

On the contrary to the rather malign review below, I enjoyed this book quite a lot. I don't expect "my yaoi" to have realistic description of rape and the following trauma anymore, but that's not the point. I doubt this piece was originally supposed to provide a truthful insight on the realism of rape, it it simply a good and "entertaining" read. I like Nishimura Shuuko's work, but lately I've been quite afraid that the plot will take a weird turn somewhere, "ruining" my expectations. However, it is not the case this time. Despite the chaotic description, the story stays consistent and relatively interesting - and so are the characters. The mangaka has proven that she is indeed very good at handling stories with high-class bishies in elite school uniforms, yet again.

Pathetic and depressing read

This badly written manga attempts to deal with rape realistically and is an epic fail.
The unrealistic representation of the effects of rape seems to be a common theme with this Mangaka.
The entire story was irritating.
The characterisation poor.
And the realism non existant.
