A delinquent with dyed blond hair has joined the Robot Research Club!?
2 Volumes (Complete)

The connection the author made.. the conflict of the main character to the prototype they made for the competition.. superb! It was wholesome. Yes the romance was cute but how it started/progressed was the best part.
To be honest, I was more invested with the competition. I love how the author made the scene feel like the readers were in there too. Heck, my heart was thumping in excitement before and during the competition despite it being short.
With this manga having a theme similar to my school department, the flaw I found is the author didn't elaborate the cause of some malfunction and suddenly has a solution related to 'heat friction'. It was odd of how fast they solved with that but whatever.
I hope there was more of this.
This brought back memories of when I was on my high school robotics team! 6 weeks of hard work just for one weekend of exhilarating competition.
It was obvious the author didn't have any technical knowledge and some of the aspects of the competition weren't very realistic. But the emotional parts of the story were really sweet.
I also wish they had included the camaraderie that actually exists between the teams instead of the trash talk, or at least that was my experience! When robots broke during competition other teams would come help fix them between matches so the teams wouldn't have to forfeit even though it was a competition. Some of the bigger schools would also hold practice competitions. That would have been cool to see in the manga, but it was still really awesome seeing a plot that revolves around robotics competitions!
