Aoto was technically supposed to be dead, but thanks to his younger sister Meika's pleading to the water goddess, Mikuri, who granted her wish, he was brought back to life. However, in the process, the goddess of Hanamikawa Temple, Mikuri, lost her tremendous power and the ability to help people of the town.

Edit: Wohoo, an update!
Aoto's character is one I don't remember seeing before in any manga. He's perpetually and actually pissed off, and he rarely gets embarrased. He isn't dragged around(too much), he takes charge of his own accord, and is generally refreshing. I would like to see a few more manga with such a kind of character.
A shame that this seems to have been discontinued.

if you are looking for something as good as those not so echi focused mangas and yet have some of it with some decent action, supernatural stuff with hilarious events and some romantic development... this is the right manga for you, i just hope to see more of it beyond the translated chapters... 100% support it!!!
