Description

Much better than the original

The manga manages to bring out the comedy by cranking it up compared to the original novel. It takes liberties with plenty of actions and scenes to make the more wacky. The art is simple but very expressive, which lends itself well to the story. The novel instead drags things out too much and the english official translation was butchered with slang and bad decisions from the translator.

While the novel is a 4/10 at best, I'd rate the manga at about 7 or 8/10. It's simply better. The musclehead protagonist, the hyperactive elf, the fun expressions and rapid fired gags. All comes together to make for a fun read.

Too bad the manga only went up to volume 4, which barely gets into volume 2 of the light novel, it ends abruptly at the start of getting to the next little arc of going to the elf village or whatever it was called.

While the jokes will end up stale if the author doesn't switch it around a bit and get creative, 4 volumes is nowhere close to that point. It can easily be read in one sitting of a few hours if you're not skimming.

I applaud the mangaka for the skill of making the adaptation so much better by cutting out useless fluff and editing some parts. If they were a bit better at drawing, it would be even better, but the groundwork is there and the most important thing in a story in a story like this is how to draw the characters in funny ways.

The gag doesn't really get old but it's shame because it seems like the series was canceled, or otherwise has a lackluster ending. It's an enjoyable light read

A rare gem

Many isekai and fantasy manga have bland premises and repetitive tropes. Born/sent into another world with suddenly OP abilities, distinguished backgrounds shifting to the normal life, gaming mechanics incorporated into story progression, harem acquisition with the same personalities for each girls to fan service the each member of a particular audience, etc.

The pacing is very slice of life, mellow and easy. The outrageous obsession for training and building muscles of the protagonist is OTT and humorous but a welcoming recurring gag. His companion, a prim and proud but charming elf is a good foil and compliment to his character. Their adventure and slow romance is a good change of pace from the edgy and mary sue type of isekai and fantasy genre. If you want to try a new taste to your palette or feeling a bit nostalgic. I highly recommend this manga.

It is funny, entertaining, light.. Definitely something you would enjoy if you want to lay back and enjoy the fictional heroic world. I highly recommend it. It is a bit like one punch man where it makes fun the super effect of magic in this genre.

Main characters:
MM is someone who has no extra ordinary skill nor intelligence nor magic, only woth his physical muscle power (which he's so proud about)

MF is a narcissistic elf also with great power but not overwhelmingly so

They make a great couple. and the slow romance is cute too

Great Comedy.

Fantasy manga are a dine a dozen, but this one manages to stand out with a solid grasp of comedy, a wonderfully over-the-top setting, and some quirky but likable characters.

PS: In contrast to other reviews here, the comedy didn't get stale for me. For instance, the depiction of the God of Muscle was one of my favorite jokes in recent memory.

PPS: Having now finished reading the story, I stand by the above (I certainly prefer this take on over-the-top muscle magic to that of Mashle), but feel like the story petered out after the tournament arc; the final ~5 chapters are rather lackluster and only have a barely adequate conclusion. I guess this was one of those mangas that were only meant to advertise the web novel. Unfortunate.

Stale Comedy

The story revolves around the protagonist who's incapable of using magic. Instead, he has trained in the mountains to a point where he's literally a beef cake and his body is nearly invincible to all forms of attack. An elf (the protagonist's character foil), lost in the forest, accidentally encounters the protagonist and they decide to form a party and travel around the world together.

The protagonist is proud of his muscles and uses every opportunity to show them off to get praised. And this is the whole comedy; his obsession with everything related to muscles; a muscle-head obviously. It's kind of funny in the first chapter, but it quickly becomes stale because it's basically the same joke repeated over and over again.

Overall, if you have absolutely nothing else to read, then you can take a shot at this. Only 8 chapters have been released at the time of this comment, so it will take just a few minutes to read.
