Ah yes, a webtoon that's so fluffy with only good vibes. Well, to be honest, it wasn't completely perfectly. The plot was very cliché and it was way too predictable (the evil guy is so evil! much sabotages! ML goes into a coma!), the pacing is slow, and it's funny how some things were oversimplified and so obvious. For example...
Ina becoming a famous illustrator, "social media" and public opinion driving the plot, the timeline of events -- which was never specified, but everyday was a sunny day, and Hyeondu really just developed a new product in the span of a few weeks? seriously?! 🤣
But here's my justification on why this is a 10 for me.
The good characters are all so SOFT.
Ina and Hyeondu are so honest and mature with each other. I love how their relationship unfolded in such a natural way. Super props to Ina for how she handled Taegyeong to gently reject him.
It became obvious later that Taegyeong was in fact good, but "they had us in the first half, not gonna lie". Great that Taegyeong overturned the jealous 2ML trope and did a good thing. He even turned down the money!! Dang.
The parlor regulars were all so cute too. At first, I thought this was a case-by-case type of story that focused on the different customers, but the story ramped up after a few "cases". Still, it was super cool to read them, because you learn a LOT about skincare. Will I remember it? No. But kudos to the author for including those learning moments in. You can tell they really want to get their message across with this story. "Love your self. Love your skin". Your skin actually affects your physical and mental wellbeing more than you think; try to give it some nourishment if you can!
The ending wrapped up everything so nicely. It was cliché and seemed forced in, but it was still very cute how the author did that meerkat thing at the end. It was a sweet way to tie everything together.
This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's a light relaxing read that you will certainly not hate. 🙂
