belated review. this is the first book that Taiwan gotten the copyright of sensei! Nevertheless, i got attracted by the cover and the synopsis (big supernatural buff)! Bought it! And with the popularity, her books got sold out with most suppliers.

the plot was amazing, being an eastern reader, the plot, the story and the tribal background made a lot of sense.

it’s also awesome to have additional 20 page story release on Bookwalker (ebook platform).

I wish this manga was longer because it has all the perfect elements for a multiple volumes series (well-done historical setting, divine powers and state secrets) and its second half should have had more chapters in order to develope properly.

The art is decent and the characters are very pretty, but the way they acted didn't make sense. The reason the mangaka gave for the two characters to end up together was shallow. It amounted to love conquers all and love is worth more than the world. This doesn't work when part of the manga is about Shiki's powers being necessary to protect the country. The manga shows That is something Shiki and Yamato can't solve with human cleverness. The story needs better reasons for Shiki and Yamato to choose their love for each other over other people's lives.

Also, it literally makes no sense that

Literally everything is so perfect, the settings, drawings (!! I can feel that they really put a lot of work in each panel), the characters and the plot itself is so fresh, I've never found it in any stories before.

This was a real treat--sensei's art is incredibly lush and detailed, and she manages to pull off the rare feat of crafting a meaningful story in just a single volume, rife with elements of religious worldbuilding and political intrigue. I would agree with previous reviewers that this does read like the truncated version of a much longer story, but there are surprisingly few, if any, loose ends. Sensei has a talent for writing relatively realistic characters without the need for heaps of manufactured drama; I can't say "childhood friends" is my favorite BL trope but I found myself invested in Yamato's unwavering earnestness and Shiki's struggle between following his duty and his heart. An impressive release that rivals work from much more established mangaka.

I loved the world building in this, and the art is absolutely phenomenal. The characters are nicely constructed and I love their design. I feel like this mangaka is a masochist for having Yamato have a full body tattoo and Shiki, an absolutely beautiful miko with elaborate clothing. Absolute props.

Hugest sin is that this manga is only one volume long. With all the set up for political drama and potential warfare, this manga could have gone on for VOLUMES. I would have fallen for this hook, line, and sinker if it had lol. I'm so sad, there was SO MUCH potential for a rare plot driven BL. It's not that this manga is bad, it's just that it feels so truncated. The ending especially felt very rushed and like we're supposed to just add our own ending. Did the mangaka get tired of drawing the elaborate main characters? maybe that was it lmao.

UGH disappointed that this didn't continue, but definitely a good read!

The art is gorgeous, I couldn’t look away from these beautiful characters, costumes to scenery. I also loved their sweet interactions with each other.
The plot is intriguing and enjoyable. I found some details a bit confusing though.
