Description

Sometimes you can't have it all- I didn't like any of the stories except for those with Nishina and Takei in them. And chapter 6 and extra are the only good stories of the lot. But why couldn't Takei have topped Nishina just once? That would've changed my rating for sure!
4)I Can't Be Gentle-
this story was disgusting. if he wasnt happy in the relationship (spoiler) then he should break up and not go out to cheat, the fact that he couldnt come with someone else doesnt make what he did okay. how can his lover sleep with him knowing he was with another man a few minutes ago its disgusting. and what was with him saying he was taken "advantage of" he went with that guy for sex, he wasn't forced. this book was pretty much just about sex, everyone was having sex with everyone else. and even when they slept with someone other than the main character, they would claim to always be faithful to eachother even though they just cheated a few minutes ago, its too unrealistic...

Now, I don't usually mind smutty Yaoi. There's never much of a story line to be found but at least there is some good art and steamy sex scenes. But Kondo Koso Honki! fell a little short.
I didn't read this series expecting a good story or great characters. In fact, I'm judging the volume on pretty low standards. All it has promised (and all it has to live up to) is sex. It delivers its promise in an okay way. The biggest disappointment is the art.
I titled my subject 'The Land of the Square Jaw' for a reason. I don't know why, but there have been many Yaoi mangaka who seem to believe that the bigger they draw a man's jaw, the more handsome he becomes. I happen to think that Jay Leno is not attractive and that men with giant protruding chins happen to look weird.
All that being said, the series was done in 2001, so I was a little generous with my score. Toyama Mako seems to have slightly improved her chin complex. Other artistic disappointments range into bland scenery, rigid expressions and extremely plain clothing (considering the first chapter is about a man in love with a fashion designer).
In the end, you'll have to decide whether you think this series is going to be a waste of time. For once, I really can't ask that people give it a go (or completely abandon it). Judge for yourself.
