A short story of a reindeer who becomes human in order to find the boy who called her "pretty" five years ago.
Oneshot (Complete)

The lead guy initially acts like a nagging schoolmarm, to misdirect the reader. Why is he pretending to be an overbearing scold with no feelings for her? I don't know if the author knows. I don't see any motivation for him to procrastinate on confessing to her, it's just a cheap trick from the writer to get her rejected, crying and collapsed in the snow so he can roll in and warm her up the most. At least I hope it was the writer's idea, and not the guy's! If it was his plan to make her think nobody likes her, he does a stellar job.
What bizarro chessmaster hits on a girl and then spontaneously pretends to be the person she mistakes him for? That's an abnormal whim. Moreover, what kind of stuck-up freak would do that to a girl, and then be insulted and disgusted when she says she turned into a human for him? A second ago he was trying to bang her under false pretenses! Now he's scared? As if any human man's first reaction to meeting a hot friendly alien is "disgusting". If that's gross and intrusive to him how on earth did he summon the guts to pretend to be a stranger's intimate? What a senseless character. Again, he's just a plot device who acts in whatever way will make her cry the hardest.
Repeated rejection has given this girl the self esteem of an earthworm. We're expected to feel for her because she was born with white fur and the other reindeer abandoned and exiled her. That stupid Rudolph setup just makes me pissed off at reindeer society. Why isn't somebody doing something about this? One beautiful boy per outcast reindeer does not a civil rights movement make.
It had the potential to be a really cute story but it just felt horribly rushed from start to finish and the climax of the romance between the two main characters was so fast and confusing it left me thinking 'what just happened?'
Good concept, poor execution.
This one shot has pretty art, excellent pacing, is one of the more original Christmas stories I've read. The only thing I dislike about it is that two of the male characters look the same, so it gets confusing. Anyway, it's about one of Santa's reindeer becoming a woman, so she can talk to a boy who complimented her long ago, but thing's don't go as planned.
