So I followed this manga since the first volume came out and now that it is over I'm writing a more detailed review. While my enthusiasm has withered a little my opinion mostly hasn't changed.
The main reason I like Lust Geass is because of the art, so soft-looking with even detailed backgrounds and nailed character expressions. Maybe the main bad thing I could say about it is that the faces look very similar from one character to another. Otherwise I awlays wanted this artist to make a manga that's more erotic than his previous ones cause Isuca for example didn't have enough of it and was stuffed with an otherwise mediocre story.
As for the story, well it's basically a pretext for erotic stuff to happen.
One regret is maybe that I would have liked some more erotic scenes with the main girl, Rikka.
Otherwise the story wasn't really surprising, it had mostly predictable outcomes for the first three volumes, what you would expect from a harem manga, MC dukes it out with each of the three girls you see on one of the very first pages of volume 1 ; basically one per volume.
After that is where things take a new direction with a new girl and secondary characters appearing, compromises being made, and one person being left alone in the mix. What followed after though was just the logic consequence:
Rikka is tricked by a demon and unconsciously goes to other people to quench her sexual desires, she even sees Souta cheating on her and Souta also eventually sees her cheating on him.
So yeah I see some other reviews complaining about NTR from this point on but this was honestly predictable and merely the result of a neglect from Souta and it was just fair game when the main character was himself already cheating on her for a long time but no one complained about that strangely enough, double standards pretty much?
And then you have a final arc to resolve this situation with a new character bringing in a miracle solution, although not a perfect one so there is hesitation and you get many erotic scenes along the way as a farewell plus some suspens as I had no idea how this manga would end until the very last chapter, only for it to end in the most convenient way but I still feel like it was rushed. Not sure the hate recently received contributed to it or this was the long awaited ending point to a story that could only go so far but hey, 7 volumes is no small amount for a manga so that was relatively succesful.
On a separate note, I'm baffled they marketed this manga as a romcom and understand even less how could readers think it is one. You have a couple who get cursed and can die if they have sex. And then of course you have the general uneasy feeling floating around the many scenes between the MC and Rikka with clear avoidance and guilt from the MC despite Rikka showing desire to spend more time, there's nothing comedic about that, it's all tragic.
Well anyway, a good story wasn't what I read this manga for so I'm satisfied with my read overall. I hope to see more erotic mangas from Takahashi Osamu in the future.
