If this is purely a soap opera, then I think it's going to be decent.
The emotional journey is clear, with moments of highs and lows that are equally exciting. The pacing is pretty steady as well, and MC's growth is stable and believable. I also like the moments where MC defies her father and berates her villainous stepsister, as well as her relationship with the ML.
But the story wants to be more, aims to be more, and...I don't think it succeeds.
For one, despite the RoFan trappings, this story doesn't -feel- like one. One part of this is the art. The art is simple and dynamic but it lacks the grandeur and gravitas one'd expect in this kind of world.
But the biggest cause is the story itself. It feels shallow, weightless.
I understand the power fantasy of having everyone adore you without much effort, that is a common thing in reincarnation stories, but in this case that creative direction only neuters MC's growth because she never has to do much when it comes to life outside her family home. Meanwhile her goal is to live as herself and not her father's tool. There are no challenges, no conflicts.
On top of all that, other characters felt flat and two-dimensional. Even the ML and bratty stepsister. As much as I want to like what this story is trying to do with the bratty sister, so far she receives no development and serves only to shout and yell and show how Mature MC has been. No one gets any character arc, and MC's goal beyond "no longer becoming her father's tool" is very, very aimless.
I really want to like this. And I am not offended by this. But I'm just...bored.
