I never read any of the authors previosu works

This manga is really good, if you can look past the fanservice, you can see why it is running for as long as it is. The plot is unironically memorable, like you could put this book down and after a year, pick it up, and be able to remmeber the main plot. Its more unique than other mangas oit there, and the main characters are amazing in their own right. Overall give this manga a read, read at least 5-10 chapters before casting ur judgement

My biggest problem with series with To-Love Ru is that I feel like the side characters usually add no substance are mostly pretty girls for the sake of attracting horny readers (without much value). I mean, the author can do better by creating a compelling plot with pretty girls, feels like a walkway showcase of pretty girls.

Ayakashi Triangle is at least better in that regards, where there's actually stakes and some kind of agency, however the meat of this series mostly rooted in such a non-serious ecchi so it would probably feel better if the main plot device would be tackled with more "absurdism comedy way".

As usual, the ecchi kinda breaks the flow of the "serious plot" so maybe the "serious plot" should not even that "serious" in the first place if we want to put more emphasis on the fanservice side. There's "A LOT" of tension, maybe it's a stylistic feature of how this author writes.

The later chapters kind of improves where it goes a bit the absurdism route but the beginning feels like a slog/chore to read. I would have more of a blast to read it if it's done more similarly to works like Rosen Garten Saga, Service Wars, etc. But alas it's a Shounen Jump series so it's limited but its publisher... Unfortunate.

Why has this author gotten even worse? Black Cat was good shounen action with romance, and then TLR started off pretty interesting, but devolved to be utterly mindless ecchi fanservice. Well, you remember those rare scenes where Rito got genderbent? Turns out the author just wanted to write an entire manga based on those scenes. And thus, Ayakashi Triangle is born.

I personally don't like genderbend, so this doesn't really interest me from the get go. I still read it though, hoping for a decent time. Even setting aside the genderbending, this is like TLR at its most boring: tons of ecchi, good art, absolutely worthless everything else. To be fair, the art really is improved a lot from the author's time during Black Cat, but damn does the plot suck.

TL;DR: If you like genderbend, give it a shot. But if you don't, you'll find nothing else noteworthy about this at all. Just read To-Love-Ru: Darkness if you want mindless ecchi.

Its actually a really great manga.
Others do point out its not very heavy on the plot and they are correct, but it doesn't need to be either.
while it is indeed very ecchi its the girl being lewd more often than not.
Plus theres a decent pace of actual character progression and avoids cheap tropes like misunderstandings.
Its one of the reasons i like this author/artist's works, and the art itself is pretty great too ofc.

The story is about a boy whose turned into a girl by some demonic cat he's supposed to be exorcised or seal. Together with his childhood friend who is a demonic medium, they try to find a way to revert his transformation and protect his girl friend.

As most would point out, there is little more to the plot beside the fan services. I should say also that the story doesn't pretend to be plot heavy either. So either enjoy it for an ecchi comedy with occasional action, or simply leave it. I personally doesn't despise it for what it is. I have been a fan of the artist and I would say Kentaro Yabuki-san doesn't disappoint in this regard. If you wish for a more beefy series, feel free to look for another as AT won't deliver much in that regard.

When good stuff gets axed and trash like this goes on....

Overarching story is somewhat interesting and the art style is good, but the unnecessary focus on fan service takes away from what could have been a great manga.
