Waiting for a plot that never shows up

One of many Manhwas where a significant overarching plot is completely absent (as of chapter 72), and power growth is the only growth characters seem to experience (most of the time, only the MC grows, at that).

There is a war, but most of the main cast doesn't seem to have any personal stakes in it (outside of their friends directly in the warzone with them). The protagonist apparently has good looks, a huge ****, attracts everyone and impresses them positively (man and women) and his only flaw is that he is a slow learner (which conveniently becomes a non-issue since he now gets reincarnated whenever he meets a challenge, he doesn't even have to die to repeat the day). He also wants to be a knight as a defender of the weak (so even his personality is basically flawless), making for a rather insipid scenario and protagonist.

The story mostly glosses over the few downsides there are to dying over and over (he feels pain, and feels rightfully distraught by others dying, however never so much that it would make the protagonist falter), so it doesn't really feel like the protagonist is "cursed". Everyone near him is a monster eager to teach him how to become stronger and that's pretty much most of the narrative so far (training/getting killed/repeat the day). Failure means nothing as a result of this (he just repeats the day, and never gets discouraged), plus we don't get heartfelt stories surrounding the action for the most part.

The war ebbs and flows, but there aren't stakes in it, as mentioned, and it all feels pointless, win or lose.

The action is visually engaging, but that's all the praise this one can get.

The artwork reminds me of Doom Breaker. Main Character is obsessed with training, getting stronger, becoming a knight. Comedy may not be often but it's certainly one of the best parts. The repeated regression draws the reader in magnificently, which I didn't expect it to that early into it. I just wish I came to know of this much later when I could've had the chance to binge entire seasons. But it's okay, I'll torture myself with the wait.

for his batshit insane squad. If the MC, plot, story and world building was absolute shit I'd still come back to read for his squad.

Thankfully, this is the whole package. Very well done...so far.

Oh. My. God. What a fucking miracle; the "Southern Barbarian" doesn't have black or even dark brown skin! No racist as fuck "dark aggressor" stereotypes here. Dude doesn't even have dreads/locs! Nope. He could easily pass as white or white-coded. Holy shit. This is amazing.

For once a Korean manhwa doesn't indulge in this known bigotry.

Oh, ch 29 to 32 really was pretty funny.

You know what? MC really be going around enchanting and charming all the powerful, gifted warriors regardless of gender or alliances despite being hopelessly clueless about his own magnetism.

Really, the fairy is correct. What a bad man indeed.😏

It's great—easily the best time-loop comic so far. Think of it as a semi-magical medieval All You Need Is Kill that hasn’t lost steam yet.

In this universe, knights are essentially superhumans and are treated like nukes by competing nations. Our MC starts out as trash but compensates with unlimited grit—the perfect characteristic for someone dealing with a time-loop curse.

The story does a great job of show, don’t tell. Even now, we don’t fully understand the machinations of the powers that be, but there are plenty of intriguing hints about what’s to come. Especially notable is how confident the curse itself seems about eventually breaking the MC. Yet, from where I stand, the curse feels like a massive net benefit.

This isn’t just about senseless action and training montages (though they’re a major factor and are done incredibly well). The comic also blends in well-timed humor and an engaging sense of mystery, which keeps you hooked beyond the action. The unanswered questions and subtle foreshadowing make the experience even more rewarding.

That said, I do wonder how long this comic can maintain its momentum. Eventually, all good things must end or pivot toward something fresh. A shift in focus—perhaps a change of setting or themes like Vinland Saga attempted—might be what it needs down the line. Here’s hoping the author has a solid plan for what’s ahead.

I just want to say that is kinda like Re:Zero, except no harem antics, the MC has even LESS skill than Subaru, but is 10,000 times better in wanting to improve. Instead of Re:Zero, it might be closer to 'All you Need is Kill', or 'Edge of Tomorrow', but again, the MC is even LESS talented, so it takes longer for him to improve. (in a subjective sense of course, objectively he still masters each thing in 'one day' )

Honestly, if someone distilled the very essence of shounen 'never giving up' and 'continuing forward through adversity with pure stubbornness', you'd get something like this.

While the MC can be frustrating because it 'takes so long' for him to learn something, he makes up for it by not being a wuss, lame, annoying, etc. Honestly the ONLY thing i dislike about him is his slow learning speed. Every other important feature that makes a person/character is great.

Also, side note: I love his squad. They're all batsht insane in their own way (it's a squad of misfits), but they all clearly like him for their own reasons, despite him being weaker than them in every way. There's MAD amounts of respect flowing around, and him being the one to rein them in is actually hilarious, especially because he is by all accounts a quiet and subdued person - he's just super f**ing intense on the inside. He just looks like he's got a poker face (and a social and developmental disorder) on the outside lol.
