Akasaka Mikke is a young artist working day and night to achieve his dream of becoming a mangaka. Things are somewhat complicated by his editor, Ubugami Ariko, who is known in mangaka circles as the "grim reaper" because every series she works on ends up getting axed. But to the surprise of many, Akasaka doesn't seem troubled by her reputation and even has a soft spot for the so-called deathbringer.
